A user equipment (UE) can establish a first connection using a first radio access technology (RAT), wherein the UE operates in a communication mode having one or more dormant periods with respect to the first connection. Aspects disclosed herein relate to determining frequencies for measuring cells in reselection. A set of frequencies over which to measure cells for reselection can be prioritized, wherein one or more first frequencies in the set of frequencies correspond to frequencies of previously visited closed subscriber group (CSG) cells, multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS) frequencies, etc. A command to deprioritize one or more second frequencies for reselection can be received, and it can be determined whether to deprioritize the one or more second frequencies in the prioritized set of frequencies based at least in part on the command. One or more cells can be measured over the prioritized set of frequencies based at least in part on respective priorities of the set of frequencies and may be evaluated for reselection.

A method, an apparatus, and a processor-readable storage medium for wireless communication are provided. A transmitter transmits data packets to a receiver, encodes the data packets to generate parity packets, stores the parity packets in a retransmission buffer, receives information from the receiver indicating that a data packet was not correctly decoded, and transmits to the receiver the parity packets stored in the retransmission buffer for recovering the data packet not correctly decoded without retransmitting the data packet not correctly decoded. The transmitter may further retransmit to the receiver the parity packets. The transmitted data packets may be encoded at a medium access control (MAC) layer of the transmitter. The retransmission buffer may be located at a radio link control (RLC) layer or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer of the transmitter. A reordering buffer at the receiver may be located at the RLC layer or PDCP layer.
