The present disclosure provides a method for manufacturing an aluminum alloy member capable of suppressing deterioration in ductility thereof. In the method for manufacturing an aluminum alloy member, an aluminum alloy casting material that contains 2.0 to 5.5 mass% of Cu, and 4.0 to 7.0 mass% of Si in which a content of Mg is 0.5 mass% or less, a content of Zn is 1.0 mass% or less, a content of Fe is 1.0 mass% or less, a content of Mn is 0.5 mass% or less and the balance is made of Al and inevitable impurities is used. The method for manufacturing an aluminum alloy member includes a heating and holding step of heating and holding the aluminum alloy casting material within a solid-liquid coexisting temperature region ; and a quenching step of rapidly cooling the aluminum ally casting material after performing the heating and holding step.

There are provided a device and a method allowing that the surface of an admixture in a stirring tank pressed by a packing device is smoothed with a simple structure whereby a casting mold is precisely molded. A mold-making device includes a stirring device 3 that has a stirring tank 1 and stirring blades 2 and stirs a particulate aggregate and an additive(s) to yield an admixture M, a forming mold 4 that molds the admixture M into a predetermined shape, and a packing device 5 that compresses a surface of the admixture M within the stirring tank 1 and packs it into the forming mold 4. The stirring blades 2 are configured in a lattice pattern by a plurality of horizontal members 21 and a plurality of vertical members 22. A distal end of a rotating drive shaft 23 is bonded to the top edge of the stirring blades 2, and the rotating drive shaft 23 is configured so that it is not immersed into the admixture M. Scrapers 29 for smoothing out the surface of the admixture M are provided on the bottom of the stirring blades 2.

When a molded article is obtained by which foamed sand is packed into a metallic mold, heated and solidified, vapor and gas that have been generated through the heating and solidification of the foamed sand are smoothly discharged from the cavity. A cavity C is formed by clamping a metallic mold 2, and foamed sand S is packed into the cavity C. When heating and solidifying the foamed sand S, a mold clamping force is reduced to form a slight gap L in the metallic mold 2 while maintaining the cavity C. Gas and water vapor that are generated when heating and solidifying the foamed sand S can be smoothly discharged from within the cavity C to the outside through the gap L, and thus the baking time of the foamed sand S can be shortened. Even if solidified binder accumulates on slits 16, gas and water vapor can be reliably discharged from within the cavity C to the outside via the gap.
