摘要:
A method for evaluating retinal function and testing the visual field of a patient by monitoring how the patient tracks a target image on a display that comprises displaying the target image on the display such that it is located at a first position on the display and visible to the patient. The process continues by identifying what portion of the display the patient is looking at, selecting a location of the patient's retina to test, and calculating, based at least in part on what portion of the display the patient is looking at, a second position on the display corresponding to the selected location of the patient's retina. The target image is displayed at the second position on the display and the process identifies how many eye movements the patient made to look at the target at the second position. Based at least in part on the number of eye movements, the process determines whether the patient was able to see the target at the second position.

There is disclosed herein a system for measuring visual fixation disparity comprising a display apparatus for presenting stereoscopic visual content to a patient. A sensing apparatus tracks eye movement of the patient. A controller controls the display apparatus to stereoscopically display a central image target alternately to a left eye and a right eye of the patient and tracking eye movement for a period of time as the central image target is alternated between the left eye and the right eye, and incrementally relocating the central image target left and right images until the patient perceives the left and right images to be physically coincident.

One embodiment of the invention provides a method for performing a supra-threshold test of sensitivity across a visual field of a subject. The method includes presenting a stimulus at each location of a set of locations spread across the visual field and obtaining for each stimulus a result indicating whether or not the stimulus was seen by the subject. The method further includes determining for each location whether or not to re-present a stimulus at that location, wherein for a given location, the determining involves combining results obtained from multiple locations. These multiple locations are defined by a cluster associated with the given location, with the cluster being determined based on the paths of optic nerve fibre bundles across the visual field.

The present disclosure relates generally to a system and method for determining the refractive error of a patient, more particularly determining the patient's refractive error by using a computerized screen, and providing the patient with a prescription for the patient's preferred type of corrective lenses. The system and method do not require the trip or expense of a doctor visit, and are optimized for convenience and cost effectiveness. In a general embodiment, the present disclosure provides a method for determining a corrective lenses prescription of a patient. The method includes, separately, for each eye of the patient, determining the astigmatism prescription of the patient via a computerized screen, and determining the power of the corrective lenses prescription of the patient via the computerized screen.

A visual field calculation apparatus capable of accurately calculating a visual field range of a user without using a complex configuration is provided. The visual field calculation apparatus (130) includes a saccade detection unit (131) that detects a saccade on the basis of a first gaze direction detected at a first timing and a second gaze direction detected at a second timing, a saccade speed calculation unit (132) that calculates speed of the saccade on the basis of a time difference between the first timing and the second timing, the first gaze direction, and the second gaze direction, and a visual field range calculation unit (133) that extracts a saccade whose speed exceeds a first threshold, calculates a displacement vector of the extracted saccade, and calculates an area including a final point of the displacement vector as the visual field range of the user.

Systems and methods are disclosed for assessing the function of parts of one or more sensory fields of a subject. Pupillary responses to at least two clustered ensembles of stimuli presented to predetermined portions of the sensory fields to be tested are measured. Each cluster comprises individual stimuli presented at locations across the sensory field, where the locations are defined on appropriate axes for the tested sensory fields. The method comprises: presenting statistically independent sequences of selected individual stimuli from the two or more clustered stimulus ensembles to a sensory field of a subject, thereby evoking pupillary responses in at least one pupil of the subject; detecting responses of the pupil or pupils evoked by the stimuli using at least one sensor; and processing the detected responses to relate the detected response to the sensory function of each component part of the sensory field. The sensory fields may be, but are not limited to, the visual fields of the two eyes of a subject.
