摘要:
A communication buoy launched from an underwater craft or installation comprising remote radio communications in a surface module and acoustic communications in a submergible module, wherein the entire hermetically sealed buoy ascends to the surface after launch under its own positive buoyancy, deploys flotation means at the surface, then separates the modules wherein the submergible module partially floods, becomes negatively buoyant and descends to a predetermined depth on an umbilical communication cable that connects the modules together. The sonobuoy may be launched from a submarine with its centre of mass above its centre of buoyancy so that it rights itself after launch until the centre of mass is below the centre of buoyancy during ascent. A control means may trigger deployment of a flotation bag with an antenna after a predetermined time. The module separation may occur after a second predetermined time or once a GPS fix is achieved using the antenna. A drogue, spool, and cable damping may prevent the modules uncoupling after the submergible module descends. A ring transducer may be used for transmitting and receiving acoustic communications.

Methods and apparatus for marine deployment according to various aspects of the present invention may operate in conjunction with a floatable housing adapted to be deployed by a marine vehicle. The floatable housing may be adapted to be launched from a marine vehicle and rise to the surface. Assets, such as an unmanned aerial vehicle, may be deployed from the surfaced floatable housing.
摘要:
System for collecting information (1) for submarines (2) comprising: a buoy (3); at least one antenna (4) for receiving RF signals (5), linked to the said buoy (3); means for electronically processing signals (6) received by said at least one antenna, these means being electrically linked to said at least one antenna (4) and comprising means (7) for the underwater transmission of some at least of said processed signals. The electronic processing means (6) are suitable for processing signals (5) received by the antenna and containing position information and identity information for ships (9) and for retransmitting this information underwater (8), thus enabling a submarine (2) to collect position and identity information emitted by ships (9).

A float (4), for a device (1) air-launched into the sea, in particular for a countermeasure, has a casing (6) and a bag (24), which is inflatable by two pressurized-gas cylinders (25) and is located, when inflated, at least partly outside the casing (6); inflation by the cylinders (25) is activated by an inertial mass (27) movable in response to deceleration of the casing (6) caused by immersion of the device (1) into the sea.

An expendable underwater vehicle for use in training naval forces in anti-submarine warfare in ocean waters, including shallow waters, is between about three to five feet in length and about five inches in diameter, and it includes various improvements which make successful operations in shallow ocean waters, and improved operation in all ocean waters, possible. The improvements include a one-piece nose cup which allows the expendable underwater vehicle to be air launched into shallow water, a scuttle plug which allows water to fill the expendable underwater vehicle after the vehicle is expended and drops to the bottom of the ocean, and rudders and elevators of increased surface area which improve controllability of the vehicle in the water.
