The present invention relates to a composite element composed of at least one outer layer and polyurethane foam, in which an outer layer is placed into a mold and a polyurethane reaction mixture is applied to the outer layer and reacted to give a polyurethane foam, said polyurethane reaction mixture being obtained by mixing (a) polyisocyanate with (b) compounds having isocyanate-reactive OH groups, (c) blowing agents comprising water, (d) thickeners and optionally (e) catalysts and (f) other auxiliaries and additions, and the polyurethane foam has a density of not more than 200 (50 to 180; 60 to 150) g/dm 3 . The present invention further provides a process for producing such composite elements and the use of the composite elements in the interior of means of transport.

The invention relates to a method for producing polyurethanes, wherein (a) polyisocyanate, (b) polymer compounds with groups which are reactive towards isocyanates, (c) catalysts, (d) sulfur-carbon compounds, selected from the group consisting of sulfinic acid derivatives according to the general formula (I) and/or sulfonic acid derivatives according to the general formula (II), in which R 1 and R 2 can be the same or different and each represents any substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group with the proviso that the carbon atom which is bonded to the sulfur atom is an aliphatic carbon atom, and optionally (e) a propellant, (f) chain-extending and/or crosslinking agents, and (g) auxiliary agents and/or additives are mixed into a reaction mixture, and the reaction mixture is allowed to completely react into the polyurethane. The invention further relates to polyurethanes which have been produced according to such a method and to the use of such polyurethanes in the interior of transportation means.

A polyacrylate is obtained by radical polymerization of at least one acrylate monomer (Ac) in the presence of a polymeric photoinitiator. The polymeric photoinitiator is a co-polymer of at least one photoinitiator monomer (A) with at least one monomer (B), and optional additional monomers (C). Rapid polymerization of the acrylate monomer is provided. A method produces a polyacrylate using the polymeric photoinitiator as described, and a polymeric photoinitiator is used as the photoinitiator of radical polymerization of acrylate monomers.

A composition and method for producing a tertiary amine is disclosed. The tertiary amine is contacted with an inert gas. The inert gas is nitrogen or more preferably argon. The amine composition is useful in producing polyurethane foam with lower levels of chemical emissions particularly lower emissions of toxic chemicals.
