The present invention discloses a tertiary amine initiator and polymeric polyol compositions made therefrom useful for making polyurethane polymers, especially polyurethane foams. Said polyurethane polymer foams demonstrate a good balance of mechanical properties, physical properties, and low emissions. The tertiary amine initiator is one or more partially alkylated amine compound have the Structure II: RR1N—(R′—NH)y—(R′—NR4)x-y—R′—NR2R3 wherein R′ is a C1 to C6 linear or branched alkyl group, R, R1, R2, and R3 are independently a hydrogen or a C1 to C6 linear or branched alkyl group with the proviso that at least one of R, R1, R2, and R3 is not hydrogen, R4 is a hydrogen or a C1 to C6 linear or branched alkyl group, x is from 1 to 33, y is from 0 to 32, and z is from 0 to 15, with the proviso that x-y is equal to or greater than 1 and the number of N—H bonds in (II) is greater than 0 and less than 8.

A reactive plasticizer is comprised of a reaction product of an isocyanate having two isocyanate groups and a linear polyether monol. The monol has a weight average molecular weight of about 500 to about 2000 grams/mole. The amount of isocyanate and linear polyether monol are such that the isocyanate groups are in molar excess of the amount of alcohol groups and the reaction product an isocyanate content of 0.1% to 1% by weight of the reaction product. The reactive plasticizer is particularly useful for formulating one part moisture cured polyurethane adhesives comprised of the reactive filler, an isocyanate terminated prepolymer, filler and a catalyst.

This invention relates to polybutadiene modified polymer polyols which comprise one or more base polyols, at least one preformed stabilizer, one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, and polybutadiene, in the presence of at least one free radical polymerization catalyst, and optionally, one or more chain transfer agents. The polybutadiene present in these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols may be carried into the polymer polyol through the preformed stabilizer, by a polybutadiene containing component that is added separately from the preformed stabilizer to the polymer polyol, or a combination thereof, with the total amount of polybutadiene ranging from 0.03 to 1.0% by weight of polybutadiene, based on 100% by weight of the polymer polyol. The present invention also relates to processes for preparing these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols, to foams prepared from these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols, and to processes for producing foams from these polybutadiene modified polymer polyols.

Embodiments of the invention provide for viscoelastic polyurethane foams. The foams are made from reaction system which includes (a) an isocyanate reactive component, (b) a isocyanate component, (c) one or more blowing agents, (d) a catalyst component, and (e) a silicone based surfactant. The isocyanate reactive component includes at least (i) from 25 to 80% by weight of at least one polyoxyethylene capped polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene polyol having a combined number average equivalent weight from 1300 to 1700, a polyoxyethylene percentage of between 75% and 95% by weight of the combined amounts of polyoxypropylene and polyoxyethylene, and a primary OH percentage of between 80 and 95 % of the total number of OH groups of the polyoxyethylene capped polyoxypropylene/polyoxyethylene polyol, and (ii) from 5 to 30% by weight of the isocyanate reactive component of at least one low functionality polyol having a functionality of between 1.5 and 2.5, a combined number average equivalent weight from 500 to 1500 and an OH number of 40 to 70.
