Also provided is a method of manufacturing the blend and a spacer comprising or produced for the blend.

The present invention relates to a curtain coatable gas barrier coating composition comprising a polymer and a surfactant, wherein the polymer is selected from a group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol and polysaccharides, or mixtures thereof, wherein said polysaccharides are soluble or dispersable or suspendable in water and the surfactant is a water soluble non-ionic ethoxylated alcohol. The present invention also relates to a method for providing a substrate with a gas barrier layer by means of the coating composition, and a coated substrate having at least one gas barrier layer obtained by coating the substrate with the coating composition. Further, the invention relates to a packaging material comprising a coated paperboard coated with the coating composition, and a liquid package comprising such a packaging material.

Provided is aqueous coating composition which can give a gas-barrier layer having an improved water resistance while suppressing decrease of gas-barrier property inherent in a PVA-based resin. Also provided is a multilayer structure obtained using the aqueous coating composition. The aqueous coating composition comprises (A) acetoacetyl group-containing polyvinyl alcohol-based resin having an acetoacetyl group content of 0.5 to 3 mol%, and (B) alkaline earth metal salt of glyoxylic acid as a crosslinking agent.

[Problems] Provided is a polyamide resin material having high elastic modulus, good gas barrier properties, low water absorption and excellent flexibility. [Means for solving the problems] This is a polyamide resin composition comprising a polyamide resin (A) composed of a diamine structural unit and a dicarboxylic acid structural unit wherein 70 mol % or more of the diamine structural unit is derived from xylylenediamine and 50 mol % or more of the dicarboxylic acid structural unit is derived from sebacic acid, and 1 to 40 parts by mass of at least one copolyamide (B) selected from the following group consisting of (B-1)-(B-3) per 100 parts by mass of the polyamide resin (A); (B-1): a copolyamide 6/66/12; (B-2): a copolyamide 6/66/11; (B-3): a polyether-polyamide copolymer composed of a polyamide 12 unit or a polyamide 11 unit and a polyether unit.
