Abstract: A multilayer oriented film comprising at least one layer (a) comprising one or more polyesters and/or copolyesters characterized by a % of crystallinity higher than 15, an adjacent layer (b) comprising one or more polyolefin-based adhesive resins, and a layer (c) comprising one or more co-polyesters characterized by a % of crystallinity lower than 15, is positioned between said two layers (a) and (b) in such a way that one of the two principal surfaces of layer (c) is directly adhered to layer (a) and the other is directly adhered to layer (b). The presence of a co-polyester layer (c) of relatively low % crystallinity positioned between (co)polyester layer (a) and adhesive layer (b) remarkably increases the bond between the two layers (a) and (b) and prevents delamination problems in the oriented structure.

Abstract: A biodegradable polymeric sheet may be configured to undergo biodegradation on the ground responsive to an exposure to free air and natural day light. The biodegradable polymeric sheet may include a first layer comprising polysaccharide at a weight % of between 15% to 50% and a polyester matrix, the first layer is configured to form a water barrier when in contact with water; a second layer comprising a polysaccharide at a weight % of at least 40% and a polyester matrix; and a third layer comprising polysaccharide at a weight % of between 15% to 50%, a polyester matrix and an additive configured to accelerate disintegration of the polymeric sheet when exposed to natural day light, the third layer is configured to form a water barrier when in contact with water.

The belts (14) and (16) have that function and/or the function of pressing an outer tie layer of the laminate being produced into holes through a core layer of the laminate and so into contact with an outermost layer of the laminate.

Abstract: A biaxially oriented polypropylene film which has a stress in the longitudinal direction of the film at the elongation of 5% (TD-F5 value) of more than 100 MPa, while having a thermal shrinkage of 2% or less in the longitudinal direction of the film if heated at 120°C for 15 minutes. Provided is a biaxially oriented polypropylene film which is able to exhibit excellent withstand voltage properties and reliability at high temperatures even if used in capacitors for high voltage, while achieving a good balance between rigidity enhancement and dimensional stability suitable for use in capacitors.

Abstract: An intermediate laminate product includes a first paper layer including lignocellulose fibres, and a dry coating layer applied to one surface of the first paper layer, the coating including expandable microspheres having an expansion temperature (TE), at least one polysaccharide, and a plasticizing additive which is capable of forming a thermoplastic blend with the polysaccharide. An expanded laminate structure includes the intermediate laminate product and a second paper layer comprising lignocellulose fibres, which is attached to the dry coating by heat lamination. A liquid packaging board includes the expanded laminate structure and a liquid barrier layer. A process for forming the expanded laminate structure includes applying a second paper layer to the coating of the intermediate product at a second temperature (T2), which is above the expansion temperature (TE) of the microspheres, whereby the microspheres expand, and at which the plasticizing additive causes plasticizing of the polysaccharide, to form a thermoplastic blend.
