An oil pan for an internal combustion engine includes a body (24) defining a reservoir (26) for collecting engine coolant. The reservoir (26) has a bottom (28) and side walls (30,32,34) extending upwardly from the bottom (28) to present a flanged lip (38) through which the oil pan (22) may be mounted to the engine. An oil cooler assembly (44) is housed within the body (24) of the oil pan for cooling lubricant received from the engine. The body includes an oil inlet passage (58) formed integrally therewith for receiving lubricant from the engine and delivering lubricant to the oil cooler. In addition, the body also includes an oil pick up passage (52) formed integrally therewith for providing fluid communication between the reservoir and the engine through the flanged lip.

The engine includes a crankcase, a pump, and a camshaft having a first channel extending between first and second ends of the camshaft, where lubricant is provided from the pump to the first channel at the first end and communicated by way of the first channel to the second end. The engine also includes a crankshaft, a second channel communicating at least some of the lubricant delivered to the second end of the first camshaft to a crankshaft bearing, and a third channel within the crankshaft that receives at least some of the lubricant communicated by the second channel and communicates at least some of the lubricant to a crankpin bearing on the crankshaft. In some embodiments, lubricant is communicated by the third channel to an eccentric bearing configured to support a balance weight.
