The system controller (10) commands the sources (2-1, 2-2, 2-n) to increase or decrease their heating or cooling capacity by comparing the temperature of mixed working medium from the parallel outlets (6) of the sources (2-1, 2-2, 2-n) to preset reference values. The system controller (10) sequentially energises or de-energises the sources (2-1, 2-2, 2-n) so that at any time the only minimum number of sources (2-1, 2-2, 2-n) which can satisfy the heating and/or cooling demand are energised.

The invention makes it possible for the prior art transmission of heat by radiation to be enhanced by convection.
