    摘要: A slag volume evaluation method for a molten metal surface includes calculating an approximation curve indicating a correspondence between a thickness of slag and a density parameter in advance by measuring thicknesses of a plurality of pieces of the slag which float on a surface of a molten metal in a container and differ from each other in thickness, and calculating a value of the density parameter which is correlated to a density in a pixel region corresponding to the plurality of pieces of the slag in a captured image of a molten metal surface in the container; and calculating a volume of the slag by calculating and integrating the thickness of the slag for each of pixels constituting the captured image obtained by capturing an image of the molten metal surface which is an evaluation target, according to a value of the density parameter of each of the pixels and the approximation curve.

    摘要: An instrument and method for measuring the volume of a hermetically sealed, variable volume, pressure conforming container. The instrument includes a needle, a vacuum pump, a mass flow rate sensor and an integrator. The needle has a lumen operable for sealingly perforating a container and thereby placing the lumen of the needle in fluid communication with a retention chamber defined by the container. The vacuum pump evacuates the gaseous content from the retention chamber through the lumen defined by the needle and past a mass flow rate sensor for sensing mass flow rates pulled through the lumen and transmitting corresponding mass flow rate signals over time to the integrator. The integrator is programmed to integrate the received mass flow rate signals over time through achievement of an evacuated retention chamber to generate a total mass value, and calculate a volume from the total mass value employing the Ideal Gas Law.

    摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a system for determining sensor condition. A sensor signal generated by a sensor to communicate the current condition of an aspect being monitored by the sensor may also be employed to determine the condition of the sensor itself. For example, a device capable of determining if the sensor condition is normal or malfunctioning (e.g., erratic, stuck, etc.) may comprise a monitoring module (MM) to receive the sensor signal. The MM may comprise a sensor condition determination module (SCDM) to determine sensor condition. The SCDM may include a feature extraction engine to determine various characteristics of (e.g., to “extract features” from) the sensor signal and a model to determine sensor condition based on the extracted features. The model may include a support vector machine (SVM) taught to determine sensor condition utilizing sampled sensor signals correlated with annotations of sensor condition.

The electrodes have a conductive surface, and an adhesive backing may be attached opposite the conductive surface to secure the electrodes to the container. Electrical contact to each conducting surface is made to a detection circuit to obtain a fluid level. A radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag may be incorporated onto the container along with the level detection circuit to record the container history, such as last used time event, net evaporation during storage, re-suspension performance after storage, number of agitation cycles, instrument serial number, date opened/accessed, and other desirable information.
