    摘要: A surface cleaning machine includes a frame, wheels for supporting the frame and a debris hopper positioned on the forward part of the frame. There is a cylindrical sweeping brush mounted on the frame for rotation about an axis transverse to machine movement. There is a drive on the frame for the sweeping brush with the sweeping brush being mounted behind the debris hopper and rotating in a direction to throw debris from a surface being cleaned forwardly toward the debris hopper. A cylindrical conveying brush, parallel to the sweeping brush, is mounted on the frame for rotation in the same direction as the sweeping brush. The same drive rotates both brushes. The conveying brush is positioned above the sweeping brush and located relative thereto to convey debris moved upwardly by the sweeping brush in an upward and forward direction toward the debris hopper. A scroll is mounted on the frame forward of both brushes and between the brushes and the debris hopper to direct the flow of debris from the brushes to the debris hopper.

The vacuum system includes a dust and debris inlet, a vacuum fan, a dust and debris conduit extending from the inlet to a deflector which directs dust and debris from the inlet toward an area adjacent the vacuum chamber which is positioned above the debris container. There is a first filter stage upstream of the vacuum fan and attached thereto for rotation with the fan. There are a plurality of second filter stages, each downstream of the vacuum fan with the air flow from the vacuum fan being generally equally divided between the plurality of second filter stages. There is an air outlet for each second filter stage and a diffuser mounted in connection with each air outlet.

    摘要: A mobile surface maintenance machine (10) has a cleaning brush (18,20) and a dust collection system (22) mounted on the machine. The dust collection system (22) includes a vacuum fan (24), a filter housing (28) having an air inlet (48) and a pleated filter element (30) positioned within the housing with its upstream side being in communication with the housing air inlet (48). The filter housing (28) has separate, side-by-side, chambers (52,54) on the downstream side of the filter (30). There are electrically operated valves (62) located in the filter housing (28) on the downstream side of the filter element (30), with the valves (62) being in communication with the vacuum fan (24). There is one valve (62) controlling air flow from each chamber (52,54). The filter element (38) is functionally divided into separate, but joined, pleated sections (68,70), with each section being aligned with one of the chambers. There is an electric actuator (76) mounted on the downstream side of each pleated filter section (68,70) and there is a pleat moving element (72,74) associated with and movable by each electric actuator (76). The pleat moving elements (72,74) each are in engagement with only the pleats in one filter section. The application of electric power to the actuators (76) causes movement of the pleat moving elements (72,74) which move the filter pleats (68,70) in a vibratory manner in a direction generally perpendicular to folds in the pleats. There is a control circuit for coordinating the application of power to the actuators (76) and the valves (62) whereby when power is applied to an actuator (76) to impart vibratory motion to one pleated section (68,70), the valve (62) associated with the chamber aligned with the one pleated section (68,70) is operated to essentially shut off air flow through the one pleated section (68,70).

There are sensors connected to the central processing unit and positioned on the machine to determine operating conditions in the cleaning system and the propelling system. A microprocessor evaluates instructions received from operation of the control buttons and the operating conditions determined by the sensors, and then issues commands to the cleaning system for operating the brush, its drive, the mechanism for raising and lowering the brush, the propulsion system and other appropriate systems.

    摘要: A sweeping machine includes a housing, wheels for moving the housing and a sweeping brush mounted on the housing. There is a hopper positioned adjacent the brush to receive dust and debris from the rotating brush. A dust collection chamber is located on the housing and a vacuum fan mounted on the housing creates an air flow path from the brush through the hopper into the dust collection chamber. A filter element is positioned in the air flow path with the filter element including a plurality of generally parallel pleats extending in a direction transverse to the air flow path. There is a plurality of electric coils positioned adjacent the pleats. A plurality of metal elements are associated with the pleats. Pulsed electric power is applied to the coils with the electromagnetic fields caused thereby moving the metal elements reciprocally back and forth and the pleats associated therewith to impart a shaking, cleaning movement to the pleats.
