Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing vicinal diols or polyols from an organic reaction mixture containing formic acid esters of vicinal diols or polyols. The reaction mixture is treated with water without adding bases and thermally treated afterwards, whereby the formic acid esters are hydrolyzed, the aqueous formic acid is separated and the vicinal diols or polyols remain.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing ethylenediamine, by hydrogenation of aminoacetonitrile on a catalyst, characterised in that the hydrogenation is carried out in solution, containing aminoacetonitrile, water with a fraction of 0 to 60 wt. % and a solvent, wherein the aminoacetonitrile in the solution is added to the reaction vessel at a rate which is not greater than the rate with which the aminoacetonitrile reacts with hydrogen in the hydrogenation.
Abstract:
A process for preparing racemic α-amino acids or glycine, characterized in that the corresponding α-hydroxycarboxylic acid selected from hydroxyacetic acid, lactic acid, maleic acid, α-hydroxyglutamic acid, isocitric acid, tartronic acid and tartaric acid, or at least one salt of the corresponding α-hydroxycarboxylic acid is reacted with at least one nitrogen compound (c) in the presence of at least one heterogeneous catalyst containing at least one transition metal and in the presence of hydrogen, nitrogen compound (c) being selected from primary and secondary amines and ammonia.
