Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for passivating metallic surfaces, wherein the metallic surface is brought into contact with an aqueous composition containing at least one water-soluble polymer (X) that comprises acid groups, and at least one polyamine (P), wherein the pH of the composition is in the range from 0.5 to 2.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions comprising (i) at least one molding compound comprising the components A and B as component (I), where A) means a graft copolymer as component A, and B) means a thermoplastic copolymer as component B; and (ii) at least one cyclohexane polycarbolic acid derivate of the formula (I); as component (II) where R 1 stands for C 1 -C 10 -alkyl or C 3 -C 8 -cycloalkyl, m stands for 0, 1, 2, or 3, n stands for 2, 3, or 4, and R stands for hydrogen or C 1 -C 30 -alkyl; or the group -(COOR) n forms an anhydride of the formula (II), wherein, according to the invention, the component (I) comprises 11 to 19.9% by weight of component A and 80.1 to 89% by weight of component B, wherein each % by weight is based on the sum of components A and B and together adds up to 100% by weight. The invention further relates to a method for producing the composition according to the invention, to the use of the composition according to the invention for producing molded parts, films, foams or fibers, and to molded parts, films, foams or fibers comprising the composition according to the invention.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a process for continuous production of styrene polymers by anionic spray polymerization characterized in that i) styrene and the initiator solution are mixed in a dynamic or static mixer and subsequently spray dispensed, ii) the droplets formed transition from the liquid monomeric state into the molten polymeric state during their free fall in the spray tower, iii) the melt droplets are collected as a melt at the foot of the tower, the melt having a monomer content of below 1%, preferably below 0.1% (
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of a specific, generically-defined copolymer for stabilising a peroxide compound against decomposition. The invention also relates to a particular embodiment of the copolymer, specifically a copolymer containing repeating units derived from N-vinylpyrrolidone (or from N-vinyl-2-caprolactam) and at least one comonomer selected from the group consisting of vinyl phosphonic acid, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulphonic acid, and combinations of these monomers.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a continuous process for the manufacture of highly-branched homo- or copolymers of C 3 -C 8 ethylenically unsaturated mono- or dicarboxylic acid as well as the anhydrides and salts thereof (monomer A) by means of free-radical polymerization of monomer A and optionally water-soluble, monethylenically unsaturated comonomers (monomer B) in an aqueous medium in the presence of at least one water-soluble initiator, wherein the polymerization takes place in at least one tubular reactor segment.
Abstract:
A method for coating metallic surfaces, in which the metallic surface is contacted with an aqueous copolymer dispersion, wherein the aqueous copolymer dispersion contains an effective amount of magnesium ions and phosphate or phosphonate ions, and wherein the copolymers present in the dispersion are formed from the following components: (A) from 20 to 95% by weight of monoethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbons and/or hydrocarbons having two conjugated double bonds, (B) from 5 to 80% by weight of monoethylenically unsaturated monomers having acid groups and/or the anhydrides or salts thereof. The invention further provides metallic surfaces coated with such copolymers and for the use of such aqueous copolymer dispersions for coating of metallic surfaces.
