Abstract:
The invention relates to a liquid-impregnated foamed plastic part consisting of a) between 1 and 10 % by volume of an aminoplastic-based, open-pored foamed plastic and b) between 90 and 99 % by volume of a component that is liquid at 25°C, such as aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, water or aqueous dispersions, and to the uses of said part for transporting or metering liquids, for freeze-explosion purposes, for projectile energy absorption or as a latent heat accumulator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a foam material that is produced from a hydrophobic or oloephobic, open-pored foam matrix. Said matrix is impregnated with a substance consisting essentially of a polyvinylidene halide (co)polymer, which can optionally contain additional substituents and also optionally of a fluorocarbon resin and/or a silicone resin. The invention also relates to a method for producing said foam material.
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods for producing melamine/formaldehyde foams, comprising the method steps of: a) producing an aqueous mixture M1) that comprises 100 parts by weight of at least one melamine/formaldehyde pre-condensate, 2 to 4 parts by weight of at least one hardener, 0.2 to 5 parts by weight of a surfactant mixture, 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of at least one salt of an inorganic acid or a salt of an organic carboxylic acid, 1 to 40 parts by weight of at least one blowing agent, 0 to 5 parts by weight of at least one colouring agent and/or optical brightener, 0 to 20 parts by weight of one or more further additives, and 25 to 60 parts by weight of water, b) heating and foaming the mixture M1) using microwave radiation, c) crosslinking and hardening the foam that has been formed, with the aid of the hardener and microwave radiation, d) drying said foam using microwave radiation, and e) tempering the dried foam using hot air. According to the invention, it is essential for the mixture M1) to contain, as a surfactant mixture, a mixture consisting of 50 to 90 wt.% of an anionic surfactant and 10 to 50 wt.% of a non-ionic surfactant, these weight percentages each relating to the total weight of the surfactant mixture. The invention also relates to melamine/formaldehyde foams that can be produced according to the method in the invention, as well as to the uses of same.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing elastic, compressed foam based on melamine/formaldehyde resins, wherein a melamine/formaldehyde precondensate is foamed and the soft, non-cured melamine/formaldehyde foam is compressed and subsequently dried and optionally tempered.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of molded bodies as dust-binding means in vacuum cleaners. The molded bodies according to the invention have length/width/height dimensions ranging from 1 mm to 5 cm and are produced by treating (a) an open-cell foam material having a density ranging from 5 to 500 kg/m3 and a mean pore diameter ranging from 1 μm to 1 mm (b) with an aqueous formulation of at least one cationic polymer, (c) and a shaping step.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an open-cell foam based on a melamine-formaldehyde condensation product, polyurethane or polyimide, which is modified with hydrophobines, to a method for producing such foams, and to the use thereof for absorbing organic fluids, as leakage and drain guard for fluid reservoirs, for fluid-fluid separation, and as a matrix for performing chemical and/or biological processes.
Abstract:
Open-cell foam based on a melamine/formaldehyde condensation product which has been modified hydrophobically with a compound having C6-C20-alkyl groups, especially stearyl groups, such as aluminum stearate or stearyl isocyanate, process for its preparation and use.
