Abstract: An object of the present disclosure is to provide an air-filter filter material in which filter performance is improved and good water repellency is obtained by using polyvinyl alcohol, a cationic surfactant, and a water repellent and equipping pores of fluid permeation paths of a support with a mesh-like network of polyvinyl alcohol. A method for producing an air-filter filter material according to the present disclosure includes: an adhesion step of adhering a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution to a support, having fluid permeability, and bringing the support into a wet state; and a drying step of drying the polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution adhered to the support in a wet state at 140°C or higher; in the method, the polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution contains a cationic surfactant and a water repellent and is free of binder resins other than polyvinyl alcohol, and pores, serving as fluid permeation paths, of the support is, by the polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution being dried after completion of the drying step, equipped with a mesh-like network of polyvinyl alcohol.

Abstract: Porous air permeable expanded PTFE composite with enhanced mechanical and thermal properties are described. The node and fibril microstructure of expanded PTFE is coated on and within the node and fibril microstructure with a suitably chosen polymer to impart property enhancement while maintaining porosity. The coating polymer content of the composite is maintained between 3 and 25 weight percent of the composite and the areal mass of the composite is less than 75 gm/m 2 . Exemplary enhancement to properties may include, among others, Average Tensile Strength (ATS) (in MPa) x Z-strength (in MPa) of 50 MPa 2 or greater, preferably 100 MPa 2 or greater, with air flow less than 500 Gurley seconds. Coating polymers with appropriate temperature resistance provides composites which further exhibit shrinkage of less than 10% at temperatures up to 300°C with air flow of less than 500 Gurley seconds.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of removing volatile organic compounds from sponges by using supercritical/subcritical fluid. The method includes the following steps: placing the sponge block to be treated in the extraction kettle; feeding the critical flow medium into the extraction kettle; performing extraction under the supercritical or subcritical conditions of the critical flow medium; releasing pressure to normal pressure after extraction; and separating to obtain devolatilized sponge. The volatile removal device used in the disclosure is a supercritical extraction equipment, which can adopt static extraction or dynamic extraction or a combination of the two. CO2releases pressure in the separating kettle after contacting the sponge to be treated in the device for mass transfer for a certain period, when the static extraction devolatilization is carried out.
