    摘要: A wireless communication method and apparatus for reporting traffic volume measurement (TVM) information used to support enhanced uplink (EU) data transmissions between a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), i.e., a mobile station, and a Node-B. After storing EU data in a buffer, the WTRU sends an initial TVM information request message to the Node-B indicating that the WTRU has EU data available to send to the Node-B. In response, the Node-B schedules one or more allowed EU data transmissions. The WTRU transmits at least a portion of the stored EU data to the Node-B via the allowed EU data transmissions. In one embodiment, the initial TVM information request message is sent by the WTRU only after the quantity of EU data stored in the buffer of the WTRU exceeds an established threshold. Otherwise, all of the stored EU data is transferred to the Node-B without requiring scheduling by the Node-B.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for enhanced uplink multiplexing are disclosed. A set of combinations of MAC-d flows (and/or logical channels) that are allowed to be multiplexed within a MAC-e PDU is defined for a WTRU. The WTRU MAC-e entity selects a combination among a set of allowed combinations for multiplexing MAC-d flows for each MAC-e PDU. Certain MAC-d flow combinations may be defined that can not be blocked from transmission even when the WTRU is in a transmit power restricted state. The amount of data from each logical channel or corresponding MAC-d flow that can be multiplexed within a MAC-e PDU may be defined to ensure guaranteed data rates. When the WTRU is in a restricted power condition, an indication of the restricted power condition may be passed to the Node-B with the EU transmission.

    摘要: A method and system for switching a radio access technology (RAT) between wireless communication systems connected to each other while implementing different RATs with a multi-mode wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed.     摘要: A CDMA telecommunication system utilizes a plurality of protocol layers including a physical layer and a medium access control (MAC) layer such that the MAC layer provides data to the physical layer via plurality of transport channels (TrCHs). Each TrCH is associated with a set of logical channels. Each TB has one of a selected limited finite number of TB bit sizes. The logical channel data for each TB has a bit size evenly divisible by a selected integer N greater than three (3). The MAC header for each TB has a bit size such that the MAC header bit size plus the logical channel data bit size equals one of the TB bit sizes. A fixed MAC header bit size is associated with each logical channel for a given TrCH and is selected such that each fixed MAC header bit size equals M modulo N where M is an integer greater than 0 and less than N, i.e. each MAC header for a given TrCH has a bit offset equal to M.
