    摘要: In an eyeglass lens grinding apparatus for grinding a periphery of a lens, a lens holding system holds a lens while clamping the lens. A data input system inputs shape data of an eyeglass frame to which the lens is fitted, and layout data of the lens with respect to the eyeglass frame. An edge-position-data calculating system obtains edge position data of the lens after layout, on the basis of the data inputted by the data input system. A first measuring system measures an edge position of the lens before processing that is held by the lens holding system, on the basis of the edge position data obtained by the edge-position-data calculating system. A second measuring system measures an edge position of the lens after rough grinding, on the basis of the edge position data. A chamfering-process-data calculating system obtains chamfering process data for processing a corner portion of an edge of the lens after finish processing, on the basis of a result of measurement by the second measuring system. A chamfering process system having a chamfering grinding wheel processes the corner portion of the edge of the lens after the finish processing. A chamfering-process controlling system controls the chamfering process system on the basis of the chamfering process data obtained by the chamfering-process-data calculating system.

    摘要: An eyeglass lens grinding apparatus, which is designed to process an eyeglass lens so that the lens fits into an eyeglass frame. Frame shape data of an eyeglass frame is input, and a lens edge position on the lens is measured based on said frame shape data. Lens processing data is calculated based on the lens edge position and the frame shape data. The processing data is stored. The grinding wheels are controlled to process a plurality of lenses consecutively based on the same processing data until a signal requiring different processing data is issued. If a next set of lenses are to be processed, i.e. a different processing data is required, a made is switch to measure a lens edge position to newly obtain processing data.

The improved lens grinding apparatus comprises input means for entering data on the shape of a lens to be processed, means for detecting the edge position of the subject lens on the basis of the entered shape data, first calculating means for determining processing data on the rough and fine processings of the subject lens on the basis of the detected edge position and the entered shape data, angular edge portion processing means which has a grinding wheel to process the angular edge portions of the finely processed lens and which moves the shaft of said grinding wheel relative to a shaft holding the subject lens, second calculating means which sets a plurality of zones of the subject lens and which performs different calculations in different zones such that the amount of processing the angular edge portions is determined in correspondence with the radius vector angle of the subject lens, and means for controlling the processing of the subject lens on the basis of the results of calculation by said first and second calculating means.

A rotatable grinder (22) is carried by a carriage (90) that pivots the grinder in a plane that is radial to the axis whereby the grinder is moved between operative and inoperative positions. In a preferred arrangement, the grinder (22) is lowered into engagement with the workpiece by an actuator (180) acting against a constant upward biasing force.

A chamfering grinding wheel for chamfering edge portions of a finish-processed eyeglass lens is controlled on the basis of the edge positions obtained by the edge position calculation. A chamfering process is easily performed, and particularly chamfering is uniformly performed.
