A weighstation which includes a weighbeam and is arranged to provide indications of axle loadings of a vehicle as the vehicle passes over it has a transmitting and receiving unit which is adapted for cooperation with a remote controller situated in the cab of a vehicle. The remote controller is arranged to initiate the operation of the weighstation and for this purpose transmits by way of an infra-red link a command signal and a further set of signals denoting the number of axles possessed by the vehicle. The unit in the weighstation provides as the vehicle passes over the weighbeam signals denoting the axle loadings of the vehicle and transmits these signals to the remote controller together with further signals which are used by the remote controller to provide a visible indication in the cab of the vehicle of the axle loadings of the vehicle and such further information as may be desired, such as time of day.

The invention relates to a method for determining and monitoring the loading state of motor vehicles on traffic routes on which measuring points are installed, and for the case-by-case standardisable post-weighing of overloaded motor vehicles. According to said method, wheel and/or axle loads of the motor vehicles passing a measuring point are measured, the measuring data is converted into signals representing overcharging when reliable values are exceeded, the motor vehicles concerned are marked by a first optical and/or acoustic signal perceptible by the vehicle driver, said signal indicating a probable overcharge, and the marked motor vehicles are detected and marked at a control point by means of a second optical and/or acoustic signal which is perceptible by the vehicle driver and signals the vehicle driver to drive to the nearest control station.

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for weighing a moving vehicle. More specifically, the invention relates to a method and an arrangement for establishing the static weight of a moving vehicle. In the inventive method, at least one weighing sensor (100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107) measures the kinetic weight of a vehicle. In addition, at least one correction sensor (200, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207) measures the motion of a vehicle, the forces and/or accelerations and/or counterforces resulting from the motion of a vehicle and/or the changes in forces and/or accelerations and/or counterforces resulting from the motion of a vehicle. The inventive method and arrangement for weighing a moving vehicle enables a highly accurate measurement for the weight of a vehicle. The invention can also be used for facilitating the processing of measurement results. Preferred applications include control measurements and commercial measurements within factory areas, in road traffic, and in railway yards.
