    摘要: A mounting arrangement for a handset, neckset and the like having a transmit and a receive end. A regular-shaped cavity is provided at the transmit end for receiving a higher order microphone capsule, having two or more poles. The capsule is symmetrically fixed with the geometrical center substantially corresponding with the geometrical center of the cavity. The transversal size of the capsule is less or equal to the depth of the cavity. In this way, the capsule is embedded into the cavity, and the cavity is covered with an acoustically transparent screen. There is space left between the poles of the microphone and the facing walls of the cavity for fooling the microphone that it is in free space.

    摘要: In methods an apparatus for providing communications to a telecommunications terminal, a request for a page of data is received at a data service node, the request specifying at least one particular terminal. A terminal status request is sent from the data service node to a communications system which serves the particular terminal, the terminal status request specifying the particular terminal. The data service node receives from the communications system a terminal status message containing information indicating a current status of the particular terminal. The data service node sends to the data terminal a page of data indicating the current status of the particular terminal. The page of data comprises a communications request icon when the particular terminal is in a state in which it can receive communications. Upon selection of the communications request icon at the data terminal, the data service node receives a communications request specifying another telecommunications terminal, and sends to the communication system a communications origination request to originate communications between the paricular terminal and the other terminal. The particular terminal may be a mobile voice terminal having a display and being served by a wireless communications system. The page of data may include both a voice call request icon for initiating a voice call to the particular terminal, and a short message request icon for sending a short message to be displayed at the paricular terminal.

    摘要: A telecommunications apparatus for transporting ATM cells having isochronous units of payload data and asynchronous units of payload data, between receiving and transmitting ports includes a buffer for asynchronously queuing units of payload data received from the receiving ports and for subsequently transmitting the queued units of payload data in a time division multiplex data stream toward the transmitting ports. A timeslot interchanger is used to reorder a time defined sequence of isochronous units of payload data from the first data stream into a second time defined sequence of isochronous units of payload data in a second TDM data stream. An outgoing TDM data stream is assembled by transferring the first data stream into the outgoing data stream while substituting each payload occurrence of isochronous units from the second TDM data stream, into corresponding TDM locations in the outgoing data stream. The outgoing data stream is transmitted toward the transmitting ports whereby telephone calls are connected via the isochronous units of payload data. Delay typically inherent in telephone conversations connected via prior ATM facilities and the consequent severe echo often experienced by users is substantially reduced.

    摘要: The invention constitutes a telephony based electronic voice greeting card service embodied within an adjunct processing system (12) communicatively connected to a toll switching office (26) of a public switched telephone network (10). The voice card system (12) comprises a service controller (14), a storage node (28), an attendant controller (16) and attendant services (18). The service controller (14) is responsible for automatic processing of incoming and outgoing calls to provide the functionality for capturing new voice card messages, delivering voice card messages and status query of previously captured messages. The storage node (28) provides a database of captured voice card message records, and the attendant controller (16) in conjunction with the attendant services (18) function to provide manual assistance to users. The voice card system allows a person, through use of a telephone, to create customized audio greeting cards by accessing various greetings through a comprehensive menu interface. The person is able to personnalize a greeting by using their own voice to record a personal introduction and good-bye, and has flexibility in scheduling delivery of the greeting to a future point in time.

    摘要: In an Intelligent Network (IN) (10) a testing capability is provided at a service switching point (SSP) (12). The testing capability comprises a test call (34) initiated from the SSP to a desired destination (14) within the network. The testing capability uses the Common Channel Signaling Number 7 (CCS7) network protocol. It uses the CCS7 TCAP (Transaction Capability Control Park) for IN queries packages (50) and the CCS7 ISDN User Part (ISUP) (40) for call set up messages. The testing capability defines a portion on the (TCAP) and (ISUP) to log (TLog) the network devices transversed in the IN call. The test call with the log portion appended to TCAP (and ISUP) messages travels through the network and collects data (208, 210) in the log portion from each node on the test call path. The test call with the travelling log (TLog) helps the maintenance personnel isolate troubles and faults in the network without having to monitor each node (or office) on the route of a troubled message path.

    摘要: Multi-media networks will require that a data flow be given certain quality-of-service (QOS) for a network connection but pre-negotiation of this sort is foreign to the current data networking model. The real time traffic flow in the data network requires distinct limits on the tolerance to delay, and the variations in that delay. Interactive voice and video demand that the total delay does not exceed the threshold beyond which human interaction is unacceptably impaired. The present invention allows the network to discover the nature of the service for each traffic flow, classifies it dynamically, and exercises traffic conditioning by means of such techniques as admission control and scheduling when delivering the traffic downstream to support the service appropriately.
