    摘要: Apparatus for use within a radio access network of a cellular communications network, where the cellular communications network belongs to an operator domain. The apparatus comprises a radio control unit for controlling radio channels within one or more cells of the radio access network, and a data source for maintaining or accessing data content, the data source being allocated in use an IP address that is unique at least within said operator domain. The apparatus further comprises an IP packet classifier configurable to inspect packets received from a client and to identify packets addressed to said IP address, and to redirect such identified packets to said data source. The apparatus also comprises an IP packet route selector configured to react to the establishment of a connection between a client and said data source by routing data content packets from said data source to the client via a radio channel or channels controlled by said radio control unit. The IP packet route selector is further able to react to a handover of the client to a peer apparatus responsible for a different set of radio channels by routing data content packets from said data source to the client via an IP backbone network.

    摘要: The per-node delay for transfer of a datagram that is segmented into datagram segments is reduced by a header compression based segmentation and link layer switching. For each datagram segment, the segmentation header includes a unique segmentation context identifier (CID). Based on the segmentation CID, the datagram segments are forwarded between intervening nodes of source and destination, without being reassembled at each node. The segmented data gram is reassembled at the destination node based on sequence numbers assigned to the datagram segments during segmentation.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for supporting the forwarding of received data packets in a router (402,702) of a packet- switched network. A forwarding table (706a) is configured in the router based on aggregating router keys and associated aggregation related instructions received from a key manager (400,700). Each aggregating router key represents a set of destinations. When a data packet (P) is received comprising an ingress tag derived from a sender key or router key, the ingress tag is matched with entries in the forwarding table. An outgoing port is selected for the packet according to a found matching table entry that further comprises an associated aggregation related instruction. An egress tag is then created according to the aggregation related instruction, and the packet with the created egress tag attached is sent from the selected outgoing port to a next hop router.
