A pulsimeter 1 includes: a pulse rate measurement unit 110 which detects a measured pulse rate 750 about a living body of a subject; a moving rate calculation unit 120 which detects moving rate information about a movement of the subject; a reliability determination unit 160 which determines whether the reliability of the measured pulse rate 750 is high or low on the basis of a predetermined criterion; a storage unit 700 which stores a user-specific pulse estimation table 780 showing a correlation between the pulse rate and the moving rate information in association with the subject; and a table update unit 170 which updates the user-specific pulse estimation table 780. If the reliability determination unit 160 determines that the reliability of the measured pulse rate 750 is high, the table update unit 170 updates the user-specific pulse estimation table 780 on the basis of the measured pulse rate 750 and the moving rate information.

The present invention is related to a sleep state detection method, apparatus and system. The method comprises: upon detecting that a current state of a user satisfies a preset sleep condition, sending a state checking request to a terminal, so that the terminal checks sensor data and/or an operation event of a preset application on the terminal according to the state checking request, wherein the terminal is bound to the smart wearable device; receiving state information, which is fed back by the terminal based on a result of the checking; and determining whether the user enters a sleep state, based on the state information. With this solution, the smart wearable device determines whether the user enters the sleep state with the assistance of the terminal, thereby preventing the smart wearable device from miscalculating the user's sleep duration and even misjudging that a sleep quality problem occurs, ensuring the accuracy of calculating the user's sleep duration and improving the user experience.

A system and method for monitoring the tidal volume of an individual to diagnose a condition is disclosed. The system includes an electrically-conductive, elastomeric band; and a microprocessor having memory. The microprocessor is in electrical communication with said band and has functionality to monitor the respiratory activity of the individual during a period of time, collect raw data from 30 times to 34 times per second, average the data over 9-34 readings, blur from 0.3 seconds to 1.0 seconds of said averaged data to filter out artifacts; determine the beginning of a breath and the end of a breath based on said blurred data; and record an adverse event if a pre-determined period of time has elapsed without a new breath commencing.

A biological information detecting device includes: a first light receiving portion and a second light receiving portion which receive light from a subject; a processing portion; and at least one light emitting portion (light emitting portion or the like) which emits light to the subject. When a distance between the light emitting portion and the first light receiving portion is set to L1 and a distance between the light emitting portion and the second light receiving portion is set to L2, L1

A light detection unit includes a light emitter that emits light toward an object of interest, a light receiver that receives light from the object of interest, and a light blocking member that performs light blocking at least above the light receiver. The light blocking member includes a first surface that is provided between the light emitter and the light receiver and prevents direct light from the light emitter from entering the light receiver and a second surface and a third surface that are provided along a direction that intersects the first surface and prevent light from entering the light receiver. Further, the first surface is made of a first material, and the second surface and the third surface are made of a second material different from the first material.

A way of indicating a risk for coronary artery disease is disclosed. A first plurality of first sound recordings of heartbeats and second plurality of second sound recording of the ambient background are obtained. A filtering of each first sound recording is performed by using a simultaneously recorded second sound recording. The filtering of each first sound recording comprises involves a determining a diastolic period of the heartbeat of the first sound recording, and performing an adaptive filtering of the first sound recording based in the diastolic period of the first sound recording and the simultaneously recorded second sound recording. This is followed by a determining of an indication of the risk for coronary artery disease based on the filtered first sound recordings.
