The support/clamp includes a clamping arm (26)elastically movable towards and away from a support base and a clamping block (52) connected to the connecting arm adapted to receive clamping forces from a threaded clamping bolt (50). The clamping bolt (50) defines a force applying surface (62a) located in a first plane whereas the clamping block defines a force receiving surface (60a) located in a second plane, the first and second planes located at a diverging angle with respect to each other. The clamping block (52)includes an edge portion (79) engageable with a step (78) on the tool holder that is spaced from the clamping arm. The diverging planes and the engagement of the clamping block with the stepped portion increases the force applied by the clamping arm to the cutting insert for a given adjustment of the clamping bolt and resists rollover of the insert.

Said insert can be used one after the other using an intermediary weakened point and detaching the preceding individual cutting insert (2) which was previously used for cutting. According to the invention, the cutting insert (1) is configured as a blade and has a lower (13) and an upper contact surface (14) to be received in an elongate recess (5) having a lower (15) and an upper mating surface (16) in the tool base (4) of a burring tool or disk milling cutter. The present invention relates to cutting tool inserts, wherein an abrasive tip comprising a hard material, an abrasive or superabrasive material, is bonded to an insert body by mechanical forces, said mechanical forces being generated through deformation of mating geometric features on the abrasive tip and insert body. The present invention is also directed to a method for forming a cutting tool insert. The method includes providing an abrasive tip and an insert body, each having mating geometrical features. The abrasive tip is then joined to the insert body through the respective mating geometrical features causing a deformation in at least one of the mating features. The deformation provides mechanical forces sufficient to hold the abrasive tip in the insert body.
