摘要: A junction box (10) for a photovoltaic system includes a housing (12) having a base (14) and a cover (16) removably attached thereto, and a plurality of guide channels (66) extending from an exterior surface of the housing (12) to an interior portion thereof. The guide channels (66) are sized and shaped to receive a plurality of conductive foil strips (122) from a solar panel array. When the strips (122) are fed into the guide channels (66), they are guided to and properly positioned within corresponding receptacles (54). Each receptacle (54) is sized and shaped to receive a buss bar (106), and each strip (122) is connected to a corresponding buss bar (106) by a low insertion connector (126). When the cover (16) is fully engaged with the base (14), bosses (104) extending from the cover (16) press against the connectors (126), creating a spring tension and pinch and retain the associated strip (122). As a result, a reliable physical and electrical connection between the strips (122) and the buss bars (106) is achieved. A heat sink (112) having a plurality of fins (116) protrude outwardly from the housing (12) to dissipate heat externally.

摘要: A junction box is disclosed for a solar panel. The junction box can have a base portion and cover portion nesting together. The base portion can have an extending skirt portion and be secured to the solar panel and have one or more contacts for making electrical contact with the solar panel. All other electrical components of the junction box can reside in the top portion for ease of accessibility in making cable or wire connections and/or maintaining the electrical components therein. The cover portion can have one or more terminals for connecting to the one or more contacts of the bottom portion when the cover and base portion are brought together. The terminals can be configured and mounted to the cover to provide connection with cables, to be electrically connected to each other with electrical components, and to dissipate heat produced by the electrical components.

Said junction box comprises a housing (2, 3) that consists of a base body (2) and a housing cover (3) that can be placed thereon. At least one receiving chamber (5) is arranged on at least one lateral wall of the base body (2) and protrudes in a distal manner from the lateral wall. In the at least one receiving chamber (5), at least one electric component (1) that is surrounded by an insulating cover (7) is arranged, said component resting firmly on the inner side of the receiving chamber (5) and on the housing cover (3). The cover (3) is made of extruded aluminium, comprises cooling ribs and overlaps the contour of the base body (2). The junction box can be used for solar modules with bypass flows from upto 16 A and higher.

摘要: A connector system (10) for photovoltaic roof tiles has a body (12) and a plug assembly (14) with latching means. The body portion (12) has a latching member (46, 48) and a rib (52, 54) defining a recess (56, 58) for mating with the plug assembly (14). A pair of cavities extends inwardly from the recess (56, 58). The latching member (46, 48) has a projection, and integral conductors are formed within the body portion (12). The plug assembly (14) has an indentation (66) for retentively receiving the projection, and an indentation (70) for receiving the rib (52, 54). A pair of protrusions (96) extends from a peripheral end of the plug assembly (14) and receives a cable terminal of the plug assembly (14). The protrusions (96) engage with and seal off the cavities to form an electrically conductive path with the cable terminals when the body and the plug mate. The latching projection retentively engages the plug. The plug assembly (14) disengages by manipulation of the latching member projection member.

A plurality of reverse current preventing diodes (13) between terminal plates (12) to which electrodes (a) of solar cell modules (M) are connected are connected in parallel. When an output current (I) from the solar cell module (M) flows in a circuit of the plurality of diodes (13) connected in parallel, a current (i) flowing in each diode (13) is reduced by a factor of the number of diodes connected in parallel, for instance, when the three diodes are connected in parallel, the current becomes one third. When the value of the flowing current is reduced, a heating value is also reduced. A heat dissipating piece (20) is provided on the terminal plate (12). In this way, the heat resistance reliability of the diode (13) can be maintained without using an expensive heat resistant diode, by sharing the load of the output current by the plurality of diodes (13) and efficiently dissipating heat from the terminal plate (12).
