    摘要: A phased array spread-spectrum system maximizes signal strength of a spread-spectrum signal with multipath. RF/IF section (21) receives a plurality of spread-spectrum signals. RF/IF section (22) receives a plurality of phased versions of the plurality of spread-spectrum signals. Digital delay devices (27, 28) delay the received spread-spectrum signals with respect to their phased versions by a plurality of delays. Summers (29, 30) combine the delayed spread-spectrum signals and their phased versions as a plurality of combined signals. Despreader (31) despreads the combined signals as a plurality of despread signals. Magnitude device (32) generates a plurality of magnitude values from the despread signals. Shift register (33) stores a plurality of previous-magnitude values and present-magnitude values previously and presently generated by the magnitude device (32). Comparator (34) compares the previous-magnitude values to the present-magnitude values and outputs a plurality of comparison signals. Digital delay devices (27, 28), responsive to the comparison signals, lengthen or shorten the plurality of delays.

    摘要: Digitale Signale werden üblicherweise z.B. im Einträgerverfahren oder im Mehrträgerverfahren übertragen. Bei beiden Verfahren wird eine Trägerfrequenz je Übertragungskanal bzw. je Teilkanal vorgegebener Bandbreite verwendet. Erfindungsgemäß werden zur Erhöhung der Übertragungkapazität eines Kanals mindestens zwei Trägerfrequenzen ( f1, f2, f3 ) verwendet. Der Frequenzabstand zweier Trägerfrequenzen ist dabei z.B. um den Faktor 500 geringer als der Absolutwert einer Trägerfrequenz ( f1, f2, f3 ). Die durch die Überlagerung ( ADD ) mehrerer Trägerfrequenzen ( f1, f2, f3 ) in einem Kanal entstehende Schwebungsfrequenz ist vernachlässigbar, insbesondere dann, wenn die ausgesendeten Trägerfrequenzen (f1, f2, f3 ) untereinander einen phasengleichen Schwingungsbeginn ausweisen. Durch die Überlagerung ( ADD ) mehrerer Trägerfrequenzen (f1, f2, f3) können für unterschiedliche Bitströme ( DATA1, DATA2, DATA3 ) gleiche resultierende Trägerfrequenzen entstehen. Als Unterscheidungsmerkmal kann beispielsweise eine unterschiedliche Amplitude, eine unterschiedliche Winkeleinstellung oder die Zuordnung zu zusätzlichen Trägerfrequenzen verwendet werden.

The symbol match count (447) is based on a count, resulting from a comparison of a number of times an output from the multipath signal searcher (200) matched an output from the receiver (300). The symbol match count (447) is representative of a likelihood that a time offset selected by the finger manager (260) corresponds to a time offset of the mobile communication signal (107).

    摘要: An adaptive Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter is provided that can adaptively detect the presence of one or more tones in its input stream. The tones to be detected may be of arbitrary frequency, subject only to a limitation that such tones fall within a frequency band consistent with accepted sampling principles ( e.g. , a maximum frequency of interest no greater than one-half the sampling frequency -- Nyquist sampling criteria). An IIR filter developed according to the method of the invention will adaptively locate the frequencies of tones to be detected, thereby allowing for frequency drift from nominal expected frequency values with no loss in accuracy. Such a filter will also process the input signal sample-by-sample, thereby avoiding the blocking problem of FFT-based filter approaches. With the filter of the invention, an application can identify the frequencies, associated power levels, SNR and duration of the tones. Thus, such an application can use a simple user specified library of tone parameters to decide if tones of interest are present in the input stream.
