    摘要: A cooling system includes a first section of high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable configured to receive a first flow of coolant and to permit the first flow of coolant to flow therethrough. The system may further include a second section of high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable configured to receive a second flow of coolant and to permit the second flow of coolant to flow therethrough. The system may further include a cable joint configured to couple the first section of HTS cable and the second section of HTS cable. The cable joint may be in fluid communication with at least one refrigeration module and may include at least one conduit configured to permit a third flow of coolant between said cable joint and said at least one refrigeration module through a coolant line separate from said first and second sections of HTS cable.     摘要: In one aspect, in general, the invention features a control system configured for use with a three-phase PWM converter. The control system receives an input signal from a three-phase power supply and provides an output signal at a DC link. A voltage-separating module generates on the basis of the input signal a positive sequence voltage component and a negative sequence voltage component in a rotating reference frame. A reference current computation module uses at least the positive sequence voltage component and the negative sequence voltage component to compute a first reference current and a second reference current. A current regulating module uses at least the first reference current and the second reference current to generate a command signal. The command signal is provided to a driving circuit of the three-phase PWM converter for generating a regulated DC bus voltage at the DC link.

    摘要: Power compensation is provided from a power compensation device (30) to a utility power network (20) carrying a nominal voltage. The power compensation device has a steady-state power delivery characteristic. The power compensation is provided by detecting a change of a predetermined magnitude in the nominal voltage on the utility power network and controlling the power compensation device to deliver, for a first period of time and in response to the detected change in the nominal voltage, reactive power to the utility power network. The power compensation device is controlled to deliver, for a second period of time following the first period of time, reactive power to the utility power network at a level that is a factor N (N>1) greater than the steady-state power delivery characteristic of the power compensation device.
