摘要: An optical recording system is disclosed in which input pixels (101) are recorded by controlling the quantity of light as a medium based on the input pixels. The information on the pixels surrounding at least given one of the input pixels is compared with a predetermined pattern information, and the particular pixel is accordingly subdivided into a plurality of regions for each of which the light quantity is controlled. Specifically, an optical recording system includes a recognition device (105) for recognizing at least a feature of the desired image by comparing a pixel information constituting a predetermined pattern with another pixel information making up a recording target and at least given one of the pixels with surrounding pixels, and a device (106) for determining the light quantity in a predetermined manner in accordance with the feature. The system further includes a light quantity control device including a data base (106) having stored therein a set of rules for controlling the light quantity of a given one of the input pixels in accordance with the information on the surrounding pixels.

摘要: An apparatus for processing a binary video signal (Video Data 1) carrying information of dots to be printed. The binary video signal remains at a relatively higher or lower level for the whole of each bit time to constitute a unit portion of the binary video signal. The unit portion of the binary video signal at one of the levels is representative of one dot. The apparatus includes a first detector (60) for detecting a start of a length of each of those parts of the binary video signal which are at the one level, a second detector (20, 21, 22a, 25, 28) connected with the first detector for determining the number of unit portions contained in each part of the video signal, a generator (20, 21, 22a, 24, 25, 28) connected with the second detector for producing one or more dot pulses for each part of the video signal, each of the dot pulses having a pulse width smaller than that corresponding to the bit time, the number of the one dot pulses being the same as that of the determined number of unit portions, and a controller (12, 20, 21, 22a, 22b, 24a-24c, 22c, 26) connected with the generator for controllably adjusting the pulse width of the dot pulses.

摘要: A combination of a printer and a ribbon cassette (45) has a mechanism for preventing a portion of the inked ribbon extending between a supply core (51) and a take-up core - (62) of the ribbon cassette (45) from shifting in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the inked ribbon with respect to a printing head (40). The mechanism is constituted by a substantially planar surface of the platen - (13), and the printing head (40) is urged against the planar surface of the platen through the inked ribbon portion and a sheet (32) to which solid ink in the area on the inked ribbon portion is transferred by the printing head (40). The width of that area on the inked ribbon portion in the widthwise direc- ion of the inked ribbon is at most equal to a half of the width of the inked ribbon. Alternatively, the mechanism (400) is constitued by a mechanism operative in response to the variation in diameter of the inked ribbon wound on the supply core (51) for applying a variable back tension in the reverse direction to the tension acting on the inked ribbon portion by the take-up core (62).

摘要: A thermal head (1) is pressed against a platen (62;12) consisting of rubber through a recording paper (13) or a heat sensitive paper. The thermal head (1) is provided a head base (2), a glaze layer portion (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3a', 3d') mounted on the head base (2), and a heating resistor portion (4a, 4b, 4a', 4b') provided on the glaze layer portion (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3a', 3d'). An unit area surface pressure (P) applied from the glaze layer portion (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3a', 3d',) of the thermal head (1) to the recording paper (13) or the heat sensitive paper is set to not less than 0.3 kg/mm 2. A hardness (Hs) of the rubber of the platen (62;12) is adapted of about Hs 40°-Hs 100°. The high areas (13a) of the surface of the recording paper (13) or the heat sensitive paper are flattened to increase the smoothness of the surface of the recording paper (13) or the heat sensitive paper. A high quality printed product of the thermal transfer printer or the thermal printer can be obtained even when the relatively rough recording paper (13) or the heat sensitive paper is used as the object paper.

摘要: A thermal transfer printer wherein the carriage is equipped with the ribbon cassette (5) and the thermal head (6) and has a take-up shaft (28) engageable with the take-up core (27) of the ribbon cassette (5), and clutch means (36) is provided between the motion converting means (35) and the take-up shaft (28) of the carriage, rotational force is transmitted from said motion converting means (35) to the clutch means (36), and the clutch means (36) cuts off the transmission of the rotational force to the take-up shaft (28). The rubbing transfer phenomenon does not occur, since, the ink ribbon (7) starts to travel before the thermal head (6) contacts the platen (11) or after the thermal head (6) separates the platen (11). It is possible to effect control such that no rubbing transfer occurs even when the thermal head (6) is pressed against the platen (11) to effect printing while the carriage is moving transversely at high speed.

摘要: A thermal printer includes an inked ribbon (21), an inked ribbon take-up mechanism, a print head (14) with two arrays (26, 27) of thermal resistance elements (R 11 -R 1n , R 2 ,-R 2n ), a carriage (8) mounting the print head, and a controller (1) for controlling the print operation. The printer is provided with print mode switching circuit which selects low-speed print mode in which one array of thermal resistance elements is activated for each dot pitch for printing, or high-speed print mode in which the two arrays of thermal resistance elements are activated alternately for every dot pitch for printing. The printer having the print head with two thermal resistance elements is capable of high-speed printing and also high quality printing at a low print speed.
