摘要: A color variation inducing device is positioned in contact with or in the proximity of or effects action through air blowing means on a thermally color-varying article provided with a thermally color-varying layer, thereby inducing color variation in the thermally color-varying layer. The device comprises an electrothermal converter device provided with a heat absorbing portion and a heat generating portion based on Peltier effect, a radiator connected to the heat generating side of the electrothermal converter device, and a casing for housing and supporting the electrothermal converter device, wherein the electrothermal converter device is rendered functionable under the application of a DC voltage in such a manner that the heat absorbing side thereof exhibits a temperature reduction of at least 3°C with respect to the ambient temperature, within an ambient temperature range from 10 to 35°C.

摘要: An improved thermal head for thermal recording includes an array of a plurality of heat generator elements (101) arranged in a direction, and a plurality of semiconductor chips (201) each thereof including a plurality of transistors (112) for selectively energizing the plural heat generator elements. An array of electrode terminals (201a) including the individual electrode terminals of the plural transistors each thereof being connected to one electrode of each of the plural heat generator elements are formed on one of the major surfaces of each of the semiconductor chips in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of the heat generator element array. The thermal head further comprises a flexible film (202) associated with each of the semiconductor chips and having a slot or a recess (202H) surrounding the electrode terminal array. One of major surfaces of the flexible film is placed on the major surface of the semiconductor chip on which the electrode terminal array is disposed, and a plurality of leads (202a, 202b) having one end thereof connected respectively to the electrode terminals are disposed on the other major surface of the flexible film substantially in parallel with the heat generator element array. By virtue of the above structure, the thermal head is suitable for thermal recording with a high recording density and it can be manufactured at a low cost.

摘要: A medium for recording information is disclosed which is capable of providing high quality, high information density recording by thermal deformation. The medium comprises a layer (10) of amorphous material solvent-coated on a support (20) which layer is capable of being thermally deformed to form depressions (D) or holes surrounded by sharply defined ridges (R) when impinged upon by a high energy recording beam. The layer, which comprises a thermoplastic binder and an absorptive substance which absorbs energy at the wavelength of the beam, is less than 0.45 micron thick and has an absorption factor of 20 or greater at the wavelength of the beam.

摘要: The temperatures of LED print bars (40,50,60) utilized in a printing system are maintained within a specified differential range, with respect to each other. Each print bar has an associated heating (40A,50A,60A) and cooling (40C,50C,60C) element. The temperature of each print bar is monitored and compared during operation. When a temperature differential greater than a preset tolerance range is detected, either the hotter operating print bar is cooled or the lower operating print bar is heated, or a combination of cooling and heating is applied to the out-of-tolerance print bars. The cooling and/or heating of the print bars is continued until the temperature differential is reduced so as to be within the preselected or predefined range.
