The folding tool of this invention has first and second jaw structures (3, 5) which are pivotable with respect to each other into an out of operative engagement with each other. A first handle portion (13) and a support plate (15) and second handle (19) pivot with respect to the jaw structures (3, 5) about the same axis. The first handle portion (13) and the support plate (15) can be rotated with respect to the jaw structures (3, 5) so that the jaw structures (3, 5) are supported therebetween (the closed position), and also to a position where the jaw structures (3, 5) extend away form both the first handle portion (13) and support plate (15) (the open position). In the open position, two springs (21, 23) on the support plate (15) each engage a respective jaw structure (3, 5).

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Zange, insbesondere für Sicherungsringe, mit zwei Zangenhälften (1,2), die miteinander über ein Gewerbe verschwenkbar verbunden und jeweils an einem Ende zu einem Handgriff ausgebildet und am anderen Ende mit einem dem jeweiligen Einsatzzweck entsprechend ausgebildeten Funktionselement (4) versehen sind. Um Zangen der eingangs beschriebenen Art derart weiterzubilden, daß sie preiswerter zu fertigen sind, wobei die Zange zugleich isolierend wirkt und leichter als die bekannten Zangen ist, wird vorgeschlagen, daß die Zangenhälften (1,2) aus Kunststoff hergestellt sind und das Funktionselement (4) in das Ende der Zangenhälften (1,2) eingeformt ist.
