Furthermore, a display device comprising a display unit (70) that has a display surface at one side thereof and a light source device is also disclosed, which comprises a light source (1), a support case (6) that supportingly houses the light source (1) and said reflection sheet (5) for reflecting light applied from the light source (1).

Uneven brightness is less likely to be caused in a lighting device. The lighting device includes LEDs 17, a chassis 14 housing the LEDs 17, and a chassis reflection sheet 22 provided on an inner surface of the chassis 14 and reflecting light from the LEDs 17. The chassis reflection sheet 22 includes a sheet bottom portion 31 extending along a front surface of a bottom plate 14a and a sheet sloped portion 32 extending from a peripheral edge of the bottom portion 31. The sloped portion 32 is inclined with respect to the bottom portion 31 toward a light exit side of a backlight device 12. The chassis reflection sheet 22 includes a border portion F2 and adjacent portions F1, F3. The border portion includes a borderline L between the bottom portion 31 and the sloped portion 32 and an area along the borderline L, and the adjacent portions F1, F3 are provided in adjacent to the border portion F2 so as to be farther from the borderline L. Light reflectance is higher in the border portion F2 than in the adjacent portions F1, F3 on the surface of the chassis reflection sheet 22 close to the light source.

A display apparatus is provided and includes a display panel, and a backlight unit supplying light from a rear of the display panel. The backlight unit includes a light source, a circuit board layer, a reflection layer, a pattern layer, and a vacant layer. The circuit board layer has the light source seated thereon. The reflection layer is formed on the circuit board layer to reflect light emitted from the light source. The pattern layer is positioned on a top surface of the light source. The vacant layer is formed between the reflection layer and the pattern layer.

A backlight unit is provided that comprises a first layer, a plurality of light sources on the first layer, a reflection layer on the first layer, the reflection layer surrounding the plurality of light sources, a second layer on the reflection layer and the plurality of light sources, and a third layer on the second layer, the third layer comprising a plurality of light shielding patterns arranged to correspond to the light sources, respectively, and a light transmitting region surrounding the plurality of light shielding patterns, wherein the light transmitting region includes first regions adjacent to the light sources and second regions away from the light sources, and wherein the first regions are smaller in area than the second regions. A display apparatus comprising the backlight unit is provided as well.
