A multi-functional lubricant additive havingt dispersant, anti-oxidant and VI-improving properties can be prepared by reacting a polymer comprising from 15 to 80 mole percent of ethylene, from 20 to 85 mole percent of at least one C3 -C10 alpha-monoolefin, and from 0 to 15 mole percent of a non-conjugated diene or triene, and having an average molecular weight from 5,000 to 500,000, with a nitrosodiphenylamine compound having the formula: in which R and R min which may be the same or different, each represents hydrogen or an alkyl , alkenyl or alkoxyl radical having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and which may contain oxygen, nitrogen or sulfur.
