摘要: A flywheel energy storage system includes a rotating assembly having a plurality of magnets and a longitudinal axis about which the rotating assembly rotates and static assembly having a stator configured to magnetically interact with the plurality of magnets of the rotating assembly. The rotating assembly includes a rotor back iron supporting the plurality of magnets and disposed further from the longitudinal axis in a radial direction than the plurality of magnets. The back iron being formed of a material having a first stiffness, relative permeability of at least 10, and an electrical conductivity 10% or less than the electrical conductivity of magnetic steel. There is composite structure supporting the rotor back iron and disposed further from the longitudinal axis in a radial direction than the rotor back iron. The composite structure comprises a composite material having a second stiffness, which is greater than the first stiffness.

Each pair of carriers 110 defines a carrier gap 115 therebetween along the circumferential direction, and each carrier 110 includes a rotor magnet 111, 112. The rotor assembly 101 further includes an outer ring 120 radially outward of and surrounding the plurality of carriers 110 along the circumferential direction, the outer ring 120 defining a unitary structure.

摘要: A rotating electrical machine is provided in which, even when torque from a water turbine is reduced and reverse torque is applied due to load cut off, a rotor core is not eccentric to spider arms. The rotor of a rotating machine includes a vertical rotating shaft, spider arms extending radially from the vertical rotating shaft, and a rotor core component provided to the outer circumference of the spider arms. A T key and cotters are inserted into and secured to a key way provided to an abutment surface of the inner circumference of the rotor core component and the top end of the spider arm. A plate spring is mounted to a surface of the spider arm, the surface facing a rotational direction for electrical generation. The plate spring has one side engaging the spider arm, the other side engaging the rotor core component, and a middle portion bolted from an opposite surface of the spider arm.

摘要: An electric machine comprise a first carrier having an array of electromagnetic elements and a second carrier having electromagnetic elements defining magnetic poles, the second carrier being arranged to move relative to the first carrier. An airgap is provided between the first carrier and the second carrier. The electromagnetic elements of the first carrier include posts, with slots between the posts, one or more electric conductors in each slot, the posts of the first carrier having a post height in mm. The first carrier and the second carrier together define a size of the electric machine. The magnetic poles having a pole pitch in mm. The size of the motor, pole pitch and post height are selected to fall within a region in a space defined by size, pole pitch and post height that provides a benefit in terms of force or torque per weight per excitation level.
