The invention relates to an improved signalling system for the transmission of messages by means of light signals, particularly suitable as a means of communication between naval ships. According to the invention, the signalling system is to a high degree automized by entering the message in a data entry system as a fragment of intelligible text, by coding and automatically sending the message. The light signals of the signalling lamp are received by a receiving apparatus, for instance embodied as a TV-camera. The light signals are extracted from the TV-image and are stored as a bit string. The bit string is subsequently converted into intelligible text. The receiving apparatus and signalling lamp are preferably mounted on a joint, stabilized platform.

The invention provides a method and system for controlling data distribution in a system (100) comprising a set of nodes (10) interconnected through a communication system and a shared data storage space (12), each node owning a part of the data maintained in the shared data storage space. Each node comprises a node manager (110) for controlling access by producer and consumer nodes to the data owned by the node. A first group of nodes are associated with a first trusting level and a second group with a second trusting level. A common shared key is generated for all members of the first group, and a unique key derived from the shared key for each member of the second group. Access to the node data part is controlled based on the shared key for the first group and based on the unique derived key for the second group.

There is disclosed an apparatus comprising a plurality of three-dimensional radiator elements, each radiator element transmitting or receiving electromagnetic waves. The radiator elements are arranged so that at least one pair of adjacent radiator elements are separated by a gap, which behaves like a waveguide inducing by a coupling effect electromagnetic interferences with the waves.
