Die Federn haben sich als problematisch erwiesen. Sie bilden insbesondere Schwachstellen, worunter die Zuverlässigkeit der bekannten Gefälleregler leidet. Beim erfindungsgemäßen Gefälleregler weist die Ventilanordnung (32) einen durch sein Eigengewicht schließenden Ventilstift (33) auf. Dadurch sind Federn überflüssig. Der Ventilstift (34) lässt sich gezielt auf- und abbewegbar führen, so dass dadurch eine hohe Zuverlässigkeit des Gefällereglers gewährleistet ist. Weiterhin ist ein aus dem Gefälleregler herausnehmbares Einsteckteil (37) vorgesehen, in dem der Ventilstift (34) auf- und abbewegbar und gegen Herausfallen gesichert ist. Das Einsteckteil (37) und der Ventilstift (34) bilden dadurch eine Einheit, die als Ganzes aus dem Gefälleregler herausnehmbar ist, und zwar sowohl zu Wartungszwecken als auch zum Austausch des Ventilstifts (34) gegen einen solchen mit einem anderen Gewicht, wodurch auf einfache Weise eine Veränderung des Druckausgleichsverhältnisses des Gefällereglers möglich ist.

The diaphragm (64, 264) and valve stem (66, 266) also interact with each other and with an associated elastomeric ring (68, 268) to provide improved centering of the valve stem (66, 266) on the diaphragm (64, 264) and to permit flow rates through the valve (20, 220) to be adjusted without adversely affecting valve operation. An elastomeric cup shaped shield (70) may also be employed and, if provided, imparts reduced resistance to valve stem (66, 266) deflection and inhibits accumulation of fluid in areas which may be contaminated.
