    摘要: An NDIR spectrometer based on the use of wavelength specific lamp sources, whose emission spectrum consists of discrete, narrow lines characteristic of the isotope present in the lamp, and which it is desired to measure with the spectrometer. This allows very high intrinsic sensitivity, enabling the use of an extremely compact absorption cell with a very short path length. In addition, the source can be self-modulated, such that problems associated with external choppers are avoided. Furthermore, there is insignificant cross sensitivity between the isotopes themselves and between the isotopes and other ambient gases in the operating environment.

    摘要: An implantable barometric pressure sensor (220) coupled with an implantable medical device (IMD) provides a barometric pressure related, referenced pressure value for use in combination with an absolute pressure value measured by an implantable absolute pressure sensor (20) coupled to the IMD. In one embodiment, the barometric pressure sensor (220) is formed as part of a connector module (180) of the IMD or extends from the connector module (180). A percutaneous access device (360) is implanted to extend through the skin and subcutaneous tissue layer of the patient and is coupled with the barometric pressure sensor (220). The barometric pressure sensor (220) is preferably enclosed within an air chamber (170) of the implantable medical device, and a catheter (310) extends between the air chamber (170) of the implantable medical device and the percutaneous access device (360). Or the barometric pressure sensor (220) is enclosed within an air chamber (368) of the percutaneous access device, and a lead extends between the barometric pressure sensor (220) and the implantable medical device.

    摘要: An endocardial lead (12) for implantation in a right heart chamber (RV) for responding to blood pressure and temperature and providing modulated pressure and temperature related signals to an implanted or external hemodynamic monitor (100) and/or cardiac pacemaker or pacemaker/cardioverter/defibrillator. The lead (12) has a sensor module (20) formed in its distal end and is coupled to a monitor (100) that powers a sensor circuit in the sensor module. The sensor module is formed with a pickoff capacitor (Cp) that changes capacitance with pressure changes and a reference capacitor (Cp) that is relatively insensitive to pressure changes. The sensor circuit provides charge current that changes with temperature variation at the implant site, alternately charges and discharges the two capacitors, and provides timing pulses having distinguishable parameters at the end of each charge cycle that are transmitted to a demodulator (150). The demodulator (150) detects and synchronizes the timing pulses and derives pressure and temperature analog voltage values representative of the intervals between the timing pulses which are digitized and stored in the monitor. The monitor may also be coupled with other sensors (106, 152) for measuring and storing related patient body parameters, e.g. blood gas, ECG, and patient activity.
