    摘要: In a fuel pump and method of operation, an infeed for low pressure fuel leads to a pumping chamber where in an intake phase low pressure fuel is drawn into the pumping chamber and in a pumping phase high pressure fuel is delivered to a common rail. An inlet metering valve and an inlet check valve are upstream of the pumping chamber, and a control system closes the metering valve when no fuel is to be pumped to the common rail. The inlet check valve is also opened while the inlet metering valve is closed and no fuel is to be pumped to the rail. The inlet metering valve can include a proportionally controlled piston that produces a variable quantity of feed fuel and is closable for the no-demand condition with a maximum travel that contacts and holds open the inlet check valve.

    摘要: A differential pressure control valve has a valve seat, a valve body, and a guiding member. A valve hole through which fluid passes is formed in the valve seat. The valve body is located on the downstream side of the valve seat, and separates from or is seated on the valve seat in accordance with the pressure difference between the upstream side and the downstream side to selectively open and close the valve hole. The guiding member is fixed to the valve seat to guide the valve body. The valve seat is made of magnetic material. The valve body has a lid made of magnetic material and a guided member made of nonmagnetic material. The lid is seated on the valve seat to close the valve hole, and the guided member is guided by the guiding member. One of the valve seat and the lid has a permanent magnet. The valve body is urged in the direction approaching the valve seat by the magnetic pulling force of the permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is located at a position outside the area in which the valve body is seated on the valve seat.
