    摘要: An optical disc apparatus regularizes an air flow generated by disc rotation so as to suppress vibration of the disc and prevent lowering of a recording signal quality and reproduction signal quality. Cut-off portions 24, 26 are formed at the upper end of the right and left walls 20, 22 of the frame 10. Both ends of a clamper holder 28 in the longitudinal direction are fixedly mounted onto the cut-off portions 24, 26. At surface portions 28a, 28b at both sides of the clamper holder 28 sandwiching a clamper 30 where the air flow generated by disc rotation flows out, saw-tooth shapes 32, 34 are formed as rectifiers.

    摘要: A magneto-optical recording device has a flying head that floats over a magneto-optical disk according to the rotation of the magneto-optical disk. The flying head includes a head slider (11). A solid lubricant (13) is applied to the bottom surface of the head slider facing the magneto-optical disk. Since the solid lubricant makes the flying head contact with the magneto-optical disk smoothly, the scratching and wear of the magneto-optical disk and the flying head decrease. Therefore, the reliability and the durability of the magneto-optical recording device can improve. Physical protrusions and recessions or holes containing fluorocarbon oil therein may be formed instead of the solid lubricant. In this case, the contact area between the flying head and the magneto-optical disk is also smaller than the case where physical protrusions and recessions are not formed. In addition, with a configuration such that thin-film layers made of a fluorocarbon resin having an excellent lubricity are formed on both sides of the bottom surface of the head slider, since the magneto-optical disk comes into contact with the head smoothly, the reliability and the durability of the magneto-optical recording device can improve.

    摘要: A rotating magnetic storage device is shown wherein the transducer and media are separated during operation by a thin film of low viscosity liquid lubricant that is recirculated from a reservoir within the head-media enclosure. Lubricant recirculation can be effected by capillary action using a wick, mechanical pumping and metering or distillation techniques. As compared to devices using air bearing separation, the transducer carrying slider has very small bearing surfaces which may be in the form of narrow rails or small depending foot elements. This enables fly heights of 2 microinches using a film of one micron thickness.

    摘要: A magnetic recording disk has both an extremely smooth top surface and high coercivity, and is incorporated in a contact recording disk file which requires an extremely smooth head-disk interface and a disk with high coercivity. A superfinished untextured NiP coating on a disk substrate is oxidized to form a NiO film. The NiO film permits the subsequently sputter deposited magnetic layer to have much higher coercivity, which enables the disk to be used in contact recording applications. The NiO film and the later deposited layers making up the disk, including the top protective overcoat, conform to the smooth surface of the polished NiP, thus preserving the extremely smooth surface of the top layer of the disk, which is required for the head-disk interface in contact recording disk files. In the preferred process for forming the NiO film on the substrate, the substrate is annealed in air at a temperature below that which would cause the NiP film to crystallize.
