    摘要: A disk drive magnetic actuator latch mechanism for use in hard disk drives. The present invention discloses a latch mechanism which includes a latch lever having a magnetic member attached to or moulded into each end of the lever. The lever is pivotally mounted about a pivot pin in the vcm assembly. The magnet member located on the latch lever tail is positioned between the vcm magnets when the mechanism is in the latched state. The unlatching force is provided by the presence of the magnetic member in the vcm gap, as the attraction of the member in the vcm field resists rotation of the latch lever.

    摘要: A magneto-optical recording device has a flying head that floats over a magneto-optical disk according to the rotation of the magneto-optical disk. The flying head includes a head slider. A solid lubricant is applied to the bottom surface of the head slider facing the magneto-optical disk. Since the solid lubricant makes the flying head contact with the magneto-optical disk smoothly, the scratching and wear of the magneto-optical disk and the flying head decrease. Therefore, the reliability and the durability of the magneto-optical recording device can improve. Physical protrusions and recessions or holes containing fluorocarbon oil therein may be formed instead of the solid lubricant. In this case, the contact area between the flying head and the magneto-optical disk is also smaller than the case where physical protrusions and recessions are not formed. In addition, with a configuration such that thin-film layers made of a fluorocarbon resin having an excellent lubricity are formed on both sides of the bottom surface of the head slider, since the magneto-optical disk comes into contact with the head smoothly, the reliability and the durability of the magneto-optical recording device can improve.

    摘要: A sensor supported by a head transducer has a temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and a sensor resistance. The sensor operates at a temperature above ambient and is responsive to changes in sensor-medium spacing. Conductive contacts connected to the sensor have a contact resistance and a cross-sectional area adjacent to the sensor larger than that of the sensor, such that the contact resistance is small relative to the sensor resistance and negligibly contributes to a signal generated by the sensor. A multiplicity of head transducers each support a TCR sensor and a power source can supply bias power to each sensor of each head to maintain each sensor at a fixed temperature above an ambient temperature in the presence of heat transfer changes impacting the sensors. A TCR sensor of a head transducer can include a track-oriented TCR sensor wire for sensing one or both of asperities of the medium.
