An information measuring unit (11a) measures a distortion component and an electric power component based on a radiation signal. A compensation coefficient calculating unit (11b) calculates a compensation coefficient based on the distortion component and the electric power component. A signal transmitting unit (11c) outputs a signal corrected by the compensation coefficient as a transmission signal. A signal converting unit (13) converts the transmission signal into a high frequency signal. An amplitude separating unit (15) amplifies the high frequency signal and separates a portion thereof as a signal to be fed back. A feeding-back unit (14) processes the separated portion and outputs the result as a feedback signal to the information measuring unit (11a). An electric power information extracting unit (16) outputs a portion of the high frequency signal as the radiation signal, extracts electric power information from the radiation signal, and directly outputs the electric power information to the information measuring unit (11a).

Means are provided to incorporate ranging signal reception capability into a mobile terminal (such as a UMTS terminal) notwithstanding the fact that the ranging signal has a bandwidth that is wider than the bandpass of filtering for native signals within the terminal. A ranging signal receiving subsystem receives broadband signals that comprise synchronization bursts, which are equally spaced in time, such as from digital television stations. A common filter will have a bandpass that it is smaller than the bandwidth of the ranging signals. However, the correlation subsystem of the mobile terminal enables recovery of synchronization bursts by correlating the ranging signal with a known sequence that has been predistorted to account for the bandpass of the common filter.

    摘要: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for reducing adjacent channel power in wireless communication systems. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a system for digitally and adaptively pre-distorting (in 112) a signal that includes applying a correction to the signal before it is applied to the input of an amplifier (16) such that the correction is equal and opposite to anticipated distortion produced by the amplifier. Thus, the correction and the amplifier distortion cancel one another resulting in a system with an overall linear transfer characteristic. In these circumstances, the adjacent channel power is desirably reduced.
