    摘要: A machine includes a single power source 18 for asynchronously operating dual indexing conveyors 12 and 14. The single power source 18 is part of a drive system 16 for the conveyors 12 and 14 and may be a reversible servo unit 18 operatively connected to gear sets 80 and 82 and one-way clutches 38 to drive the conveyors 12 and 14. Alternatively, the power source may be a uni-directional rotating driver with a linkage to reciprocate a rack operatively connected to gear sets with one-way clutches. Each of the conveyors 12 and 14 advances liquid-filled open-topped containers C and is configured to engage the containers C releasably. The drive system 16 schedules conveyor motion according to a predetermined motion profile. The motion profile comprises sequential indexing periods, each indexing period comprising a move portion and a dwell portion. Each move portion comprises a generally discontinuous acceleration profile that includes generally instantaneous acceleration changes of a finite value.

    摘要: The invention relates to a packaging machine comprising a horizontal conveyor and stations along this for processing packaging blanks, preferably case blanks, up to ready cases filled with product. The conveyor is constructed around pivotal gear bearings (roller path bearings) or the like, whereby one of the bearing races defines a circular conveyor path, and holders or carrier fingers for the case blanks are arranged on the driven race in the bearing arrangement. The arrangement allows a packaging machine structure where the essential elements are constituted by standard components, and by placing a plurality of bearing rings vertically above one another in the machine frame, possibilities for a flexible camshaft arrangement and format adjustment in the height direction are offered, as well as an open and easily accessible structure being obtained for maintenance and repair. In an alternative embodiment, the camshaft arrangement can comprise a camshaft placed in the centre of the pivotal ring bearing.

    摘要: A horizontal packaging machine for wrapping and sealing articles with flexible films comprises, a servo control system for maintaining synchronism between the finwheel drive (14), the in-feed conveyor (3) and the cut-off knife assembly (9) so that proper registration of the graphic art work on the packaged article is achieved. The finwheels (8,15) are driven by D.C. motor (13) whose armature windings are connected to the ouput of a servo amplifier (10). A master tachometer (20) driven by the horizontal wrapper's drive motor (see 6) provides a voltage which is directly proportional to the angular velocity of that drive motor. The output from the master tachometer (20) is passed through a calibrating network and into a first input (19) of the servo amplifier circuit (10). A second tachometer (16) is coupled to the finwheel shaft and produces a feedback signal proportional to the angular velocity of the finwheels (15). The feedback signal is applied to the second input (18) of the servo amplifier (10) and functions to control the D.C. current driving the finwheel drive motor (13). The system also includes a digital logic network (80,81) which senses a reference mark (70a) on the film from which the package is formed along with the rate at which the end-seal cutting blade is rotating (see 87 to 89) to produce a supplemental or vernier control signal for adjustment of the rotational speed of the finwheel (15).

    摘要: An apparatus for packing articles in which said articles are fed in a continuous flow in equally spaced apart relation and wrapped continuously by a web of packing material, comprising means for wrapping said material around the articles, means for forming a longitudinal sealing seam and driving the wrap formed around the articles with a predetermined velocity and means for forming a transverse sealing seam between the articles and for severing it, constituted by at least two rollers mounted for rotation and provided with at last one sealing jaw, the rollers being in driving connection with each other and one of the rollers being connected to a driving shaft of the packing apparatus through a mechanism by which mechanism the rollers are rotated with a non-constant rotational velocity, which mechanism comprises a crank arm (1) connected, for a rotational movement around a shaft extending perpendicular to the arm, to a coupling member (4) mounted for rotation around a shaft extending in spaced relation parallel to the rotational shaft of the crank arm and connected with the driving shaft, while at the crank arm a driving cam (11) is provided which is received shiftable in a slot (12) formed in a follower member (13) extending parallel to the crank arm and fixed to a shaft (15) which is in driving connection with a sealing roller, the axis of said shaft extending perpendicular to the follower member in spaced apart relation with the driving cam, while said slot extends in radial direction with respect to said axis and the crank arm is provided with means by which every time the axis of rotation of the crank arm has moved along a complete circular path said arm is rotated at least one time over 360° around said axis.
