Abstract:
Methods and systems for detection of removable vehicle seats may be used to indicate presence or absence of a child in the vehicle. In some examples, an alarm system includes a radio frequency (RF) transceiver and a removable seat magnetic coupling. Various actions are triggered when the parent (e.g., guardian) goes beyond a predefined range while the removable seat is within the vehicle, such as sounding an alarm on a mobile electronic device.
Abstract:
Technologies are presented that provide contextually interactive apparel in practical implementations and applications. A method for directing a change in an interface of a wearable device may include detecting a trigger and providing a change command to an interface controller of a wearable device based on the trigger. The interface controller may direct a change (e.g., a change in visual pattern, audio, etc.) in an interface of the wearable device, based on the change command, that is perceivable by persons in proximity of the wearable device. The providing the change command may include providing one or more change commands to a plurality of wearable devices in a choreographed manner. The method may further include determining other wearable devices that exist and/or are being concurrently worn within a predetermined proximity of the wearable device, and providing information regarding the other wearable devices.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for location coordination between multiple devices are provided. In one example, a method includes receiving by a wearable device, a location signal from a positioning device having location-determining capabilities indicative of the location of the positioning device and calculating a first location of the wearable device based, at least in part, on the location of the positioning device and the strength of the location signal received by the wearable device. The wearable device may include at least one sensor configured to measure at least one physiological parameter.

Abstract:
A location tracking system is provided for tracking the location of a child or other individual. The location tracking system includes a location server and one or more location tracking devices. Communication protocols are provided for communications between the location server and the location tracking devices. The communication protocols provide a low complexity and low cost solution for location tracking applications.
Abstract:
A personal security device for use in signaling an alarm event is described which is arranged to be worn on or about the human body in an accessible manner. The device comprises: user-operable activation means for activating a response to an alarm event, the activation means being activatable by a physical change of state caused by user interaction with the activation means and being arranged to indicate activation to the user in a subtle, non- obvious manner, a transmitter responsive to the activation means for transmitting an alarm event signal indicating the occurrence of an alarm event; and an inactive power source integrated into the device, the inactive power source being coupled to the transmitter. The activation means is arranged to interact with the inactive power source to activate the same and thereby electrically power the transmitter and initiate the sending of the alarm event signal.
Abstract:
A mounting strap assembly of a tracking device includes a primary mounting strap and one more secondary reinforcing support straps. Continuity sensing elements and other tamper detection means detect any attempt to cut through the mounting strap assembly during an attempted removal of the tracking device from an offender or other mounted location. The reinforcing support straps keep the mounting strap assembly from being completely severed while providing authorities time to be summoned to the location where the tracking device is located and prior to the tracking device being completely removed.
Abstract:
An object management system (10) that includes at least one object identification device (12) to be secured to an associated object (14). The object identification devices provide radio frequency signals containing object identification codes. The system includes at least one user identification device (16) providing a radio frequency signal containing a user identification code and a control unit (18) having a reader (20) for receiving and reading the signals provided by the user identification devices and the object identification devices. One aspect provides a remote unit that communicates directly with the control unit to receive information associated with a condition of the object management system at a location remote from the control unit. The remote unit is further configured to be carried by a user and configured to communicate information and/or an alert to the user, wherein the information and/or the alert is associated with the condition of the object management system.
