摘要:
The invention relates to a filter press (1) with a stack of vertically aligned, horizontally displaceable filter plates (6). Neighboring filter plates (6) are interconnected by means of at least one respective connecting element and define a filter chamber between them. In a pressing position of the sealing edges, said filter plates (6) lie against one another and are displaced one by one into a discharge position by horizontally displacing at least one filter plate (6). In this discharge position, the horizontal distance of neighboring filter plates (6) is limited by the action of a coupling element (12) on a stop surface (20). The aim of the invention is to evenly and completely relieve all sealing edges. To this end, the filter plates (6) can be displaced from the pressing position to a relief position in which the sealing edges are detached from the pertaining sealing surfaces and in which the coupling elements (12) engage with a blocking surface (13) that prevents a further horizontal displacement. The engagement of the coupling elements (12) with the blocking surfaces (13) can be released by unlatching the pertaining connection elements (11) so that the neighboring filter plates (6) can be displaced further into the discharge position.

A medical filter (11) is constructed as a container with an interior volume in open fluid communication with a patient connection element (31) and a transport connection element (39). Filter support structure (13), mounted within the interior, is structured as a thin, perforated member (14) carrying hydrophilic filter medium (17). A first flow path directs spent dialysate from the patient across the surface of the filter medium (17) to the transport connection (39). A second flow path directs fresh dialysate from the transport connection (39) through the filter medium (17) and the perforated support structure (13) to the patient connection (31).

A chamber plate for a filter press, comprising a centre area and an edge area. One surface of the centre area is substantially planar. The invention is characterized by an inner area that is formed in the centre area and edge area. Said inner area has essentially the same thickness in the edge area and centre area according to a cross-sectional view of the chamber plate, perpendicular to the surface in the central area.

An apparatus for the treatment and collection of blood from two different sources is described. A separator (20) with an opening (40) is located in a support structure (18), dividing the support structure (18) into first and second portions (26 and 28). A depth filter (22) is located within the first portion (26) of the support structure (18). The first portion (26) of the support structure (18) with the depth filter (22) forms a cardiotomy blood chamber (30) and the second portion (28) forms a venous blood chamber (32). These components are placed within a clear outer shell (6). This outer shell (6) has a cover (12) with a venous blood inlet (14) and a plurality of cardiotomy inlets (42). The cardiotomy inlets (42) are in fluid communication with the cardiotomy blood chamber (30). The venous blood inlet (14) is in communication with a center tube (13) which extends through the first portion (26) of the support structure (8), through the opening (40) in the separator (20) and opens into the venous blood chamber (32).

A filter sheet positioned between plates (14) of a filter press has a fluid-impermeable wax layer (11) sealing the sheet's perimeter. The wax preferably comprises ethylene bis stearamide and has a durometer reading of about 75 to about 100 Shore A hardness at 25 DEG C. and 85 DEG C., a melt point of about 110 DEG C. to about 180 DEG C., and a viscosity of less than about 100 cp at 155 DEG C. The wax layer increases the useful life of the filter sheet while providing a sheet which is easily released from a filter press and which retains integrity along the seal during repeated hot water sanitations.

An automatic plant for washing filter presses (100, 101) consisting of a plurality of adjacent vertical plates (2) which have their faces covered with filter cloths and are able to be clamped together into a pack to define a plurality of filter chambers, and to be spaced apart to define respective spaces (A, B) for discharging retained material, comprises an elongate sprayer element (18) supported by a moving assembly able to move along two horizontal directions parallel to the longitudinal and transverse dimensions of said plurality of plates. The sprayer element (18) is able to swivel between a raised rest position and a lowered working position in a plane transverse to said plurality of plates, when the plates are spaced apart said moving assembly being arranged to position the raised element at each space sequentially, after which the moving assembly moves the lowered element into said space with simultaneous delivery of a wash liquid for the filter cloths.

A single filtration device (12) containing coated filter membranes (32, 38, 62, 68) and absolute pore filters (34, 36, 64, 66) is provided in which the membranes (32, 38, 62, 68) and absolute pore filters (34, 36, 64, 66) are present in two sections (30, 60) of the filter device. The filter device (12) will remove viruses, as modeled by type-C Xenotropic retrovirus, with an efficiency of at least 4.6 x 105; remove DNA from levels of 10 νg/sample to levels below 10 picograms per 500 mg sample of monoclonal antibody; and will remove at least 97 % of some bacterial endotoxins.
