An electrolytic cell combined into a unitary structure with a liquid circulation fitting, which purifies water by electrode plates inside the cell when an aqueous solution is present. The unitary structure replaces the existing water return fitting. This integrated structure is well suited for use in pools, tubs, spas, fountains or similar large liquid containers. The production of halogen inside the structure is not required to coincide with the cycle of the existing pool filtration system. Rather, the electrodes receive a continuous supply of low level power and the halogen produced inside the structure is disbursed back into the body of water through the fitting using an integrated, dedicated circulation pump, special channels in the surface and a check valve to insure one directional flow from the pool pump and natural convection. Using fresh water drawn from the vessel, halogen is then disbursed back into the vessel with the water at a location different from where the fresh water was drawn. The level of halogen production may be regulated using a timing mechanism and/or sensors in the circuitry.

A self-cleaning filter system is disclosed that includes an inlet fitting that is adapted to be inserted into an existing filter body. A spray tube having a plurality of outlets that slideably engages the inlet fitting, is positioned in the ring discs of the existing filter and a compression member proximate to one end of the ring discs applies a compressive force to the ring discs. When fluid enters the spray tube from the inlet fitting compression on the ring discs is reduced to allow the ring discs to separate while fluid pressure is simultaneously imposed on the ring discs through a plurality of outlets to clean the filter component. The parts included with the system may be used to convert a manual filter into a self-cleaning filter system.

The invention relates to a continually functioning sedimentation filtration installation for cleaning polluted process liquid such as coolant, hydroforming water, drilling, rolling, grinding emulsions and emulsions involved in rotational operations, wash water or similar. The installation consists of a sedimentation container comprising numerous parallel plate-type filter lamellae, arranged at an incline at a distance from one another to form a filter body, an evacuation device for the settled sediment, a supply line that opens into the sedimentation container for delivering polluted process liquid and a clean tank that is connected to an overflow of the sedimentation container for holding the cleaned process liquid. The installation is characterised in that at least two pipe connections are provided on opposite sides of the container, said connections opening into the container next to or in front of the filter lamellae (3), in order to supply the process liquid to the sedimentation container (1), that a settling chamber (7), filled with liquid, is provided between the underside of the filter body (2) and the base of the sedimentation chamber (1), the height of said chamber measuring at least 1/5 of the height of the filter body (2) and that a flow guide plate, which forcibly guides the supplied process liquid into the settling chamber (7), is provided between the filter body and the pipe connections.
