The invention relates to a machine tool, particularly a machine reamer, comprising a shaft-type base (10) and a replaceable cutter head (12) which frontally protrudes from the base (10). An axially protruding extension (24) of said cutter head (12) engages into a frontal receptacle (14) that is fixed to the base, the cutter head (12) being removably clamped in said receptacle (14) by means of a clamping screw (34) which penetrates the replaceable cutter head (12) in a truly axial direction. The screw head (58) of the clamping screw (34) rests against a face (60) of the replaceable cutter head (12). The extension (24) of the replaceable cutter head (12) is provided with a polygonal part (26) which is complementary to a truly axial polygonal hole (25) that is fixed to the base and is penetrated by the polygonal part (26). The extension (24) is further provided with an externally conical part (28) which adjoins the polygonal part (26), engages into a conical hole (27) that is fixed to the base, and is complementary to said conical hole (27) while the clamping screw (34) is screwed into a central internal thread (38) that is fixed to the base. Preferably, the base is equipped with a functional insert (40) which is rigidly connected to the base (10) and contains the internal thread (38), the polygonal hole, and/or the conical hole (27).

The mechanism includes mating frusto-conical first and second surfaces (28, 31) on the spindle and tool holder, and a multi-lead threaded connection (32) between the tool holder and stationary spindle such that the tool holder may be quickly locked into mating engagement with the stationary spindle by relative rotation therebetween through a short angular distance. The invention may also include an adjustment mechanism (33) that allows the axis (X2-X2) of the tool to be aligned with the axis (X1-X1) of a spaced rotatable spindle. This adjustment mechanism includes a base member (34), an adjustment member (35), and a locking mechanism (37) for selectively holding the adjustment member in the desired position relative to the base member.

Zur exakten relativen Ausrichtung hat der Bohrkopf (2) eine kegelförmige Ausformung (10), die im dargestellten Betriebszustand zentrisch in eine entsprechende Aufnahme (11) der Bohrstange (3) eingreift. Zum Schutz gegen axiales Lösen dient eine als Hohlmutter ausgeführtes Fixierung oder Arretierung (15; 20), welches in jeweils ein Gewinde (16) des Bohrkopfes (2) und in ein Gewinde (17) der Bohrstange (3) eingreift, wobei die Gewinde (16, 17) zueinander gegenläufige Steigungen aufweisen. Durch eine Drehbewegung der Arretierung (15) können der Bohrkopf (2) und die Bohrstange (3) daher in einfacher Weise gegeneinander verspannt oder zum Austausch auseinander gezogen werden, wobei zugleich die von der Arretierung (15) eingeschlossene Verbindung vor äußeren Einflüssen optimal geschützt ist. Die Bohreinrichtung (1) ermöglicht daher Bohrungen mit hoher Genauigkeit, ohne daß hiermit zugleich ein erhöhter Verschleiß oder eine umständliche Handhabung verbunden ist.
