摘要: The invention relates to a ship, for example a passenger ship, a ferry, a dangerous goods freighter or similar, consisting of a deck in which there is a buoyancy chamber (5). In a first operating state, said buoyancy chamber (5) contains air. The invention is characterised in that in a second operating state, the buoyancy chamber (5) is filled with a foam. This foam has a high cellular volume with closed cells, and a dimensionally stable state of aggregation.

摘要: The present invention provides a marine seismic survey vessel, which vessel includes at least one propeller for propelling the vessel, and driving means for driving the or each propeller, said driving means being capable of driving the seismic survey vessel at a selected surveying speed through the water (e.g. of up to nine knots) and the or each propeller being selected such that substantially no cavitation occurs adjacent thereto at said selected surveying speed. Preferably the marine seismic survey vessel includes a propulsion system comprising a first prime mover, and a second prime mover, the first and second prime movers being operably connected to the propeller(s) and the first prime mover being an electric motor or a diesel electric motor. Preferably, the propellor(s) of the marine survey vessel are highly skewed. Preferably, the hull form of the marine seismic survey vessel is arranged to produce low wake field turbulence, in particular by suitably streamlining a skeg(s) of the propeller(s) of the vessel.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed towards a marine vessel (10) comprising a bow section (14), a stern section (14), a centreline (20) and a planing hull (11). The planing hull (11) comprises a vee bottom section (30) extending along the centreline (20) from the stern section (14) to the bow section (14) and a pair of retainer walls (40) extending from the stern section (14) towards the bow section (14) along either side of the vee bottom section (30). Each retainer wall (40) extends downwardly parallel to, or at an acute angle to, the centreline (20). The vee bottom section (30) is configured to, in use, direct water outwardly from the centreline (20) towards the retainer walls (40). The retainer walls (40) are configured to downwardly direct said outwardly directed water for providing lift to the marine vessel (10).
