摘要: The present invention discloses an electrolyser cell frame assembly comprising a cell frame with an inner peripheral edge and an outer peripheral edge; a gasket with an inner peripheral edge and an outer peripheral edge; and a cell element with a peripheral edge compressed between the gasket and the cell frame. The gasket exhibits compressible characteristics whereas the cell frame exhibits rigid characteristics. The outer peripheral edge of the gasket extends outwards over the peripheral edge of the cell element in the direction of the outer peripheral edge of the cell frame such that the gasket overlaps a predefined part of the cell frame.

摘要: There is provided an aqueous solution electrolysis method that makes it possible to reduce the amount of bubbles covering an electrode and generate gases such as hydrogen and oxygen with excellent energy efficiency. The method is an electrolysis method for electrolyzing an aqueous-solution-based electrolyte to generate at least any one of hydrogen, oxygen, and chlorine, wherein the electrolyte contains a water-soluble alcohol. For example, as the electrolyte, an alkali aqueous solution containing about 0.1 to about 10% by volume of a water-soluble alcohol including a tertiary alcohol, such as 2-methylpropan-2-ol and 2-methylbutan-2-ol, and about 1 to 10 mol/L of an alkali component may be subjected to water electrolysis, and the electrolyte is electrolyzed using, for example, an electrolytic cell having an anode chamber and a cathode chamber.

摘要: An electrode according to an embodiment includes a support, and a catalyst layer including a sheet layer and a gap layer stacked, alternately on the support. The catalyst layer includes noble oxide and non-noble oxide. 4 [wt%] or more and 8 [wt%] or less of metal elements included in the catalyst layer is non-noble metal. An average thickness of the gap layer is 6 [nm] or more and 50 [nm] or less .

摘要: The present separator is used in a stack structure in which a cell and the separator are stacked alternately. The cell has a base layer including an electrolyte membrane. The separator includes a metal plate and a ring-like seal member. The seal member is arranged on a surface of the metal plate. The metal plate includes a regulator. The regulator is provided near the seal member and contacts the base layer. As a result, it becomes possible to reduce a likelihood that the seal member will be compressed excessively in a stacking direction in the stack structure.

摘要: An electrolysis cell for electrolyzing water into hydrogen and oxygen. The electrolysis cell includes a polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM), a porous transport layer (PTL), and an anode catalyst layer. The PTL includes a PTL surface facing the PEM and including a PTL surface morphology. The anode catalyst layer is deposited on the PTL surface morphology to form a porous transport electrode (PTE) including a PTE surface morphology. An ionomer and/or inert filler material may be infiltrated into the surface pores of the PTL and/or PTE.
