Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, that implement a method for adjusting a glyph outline while rendering. In one aspect a method includes receiving a glyph to be rendered at a size; generating from the glyph an outline of line segments, each line segment having two endpoints; translating the line segments all in an outward or inward direction, each line segment being moved by a distance and then rejoining pairs of adjacent line segments by extending or trimming their endpoints until each pair of adjacent line segments join at an intersection point that is an endpoint of each the line segments of the pair; and determining an augmented scaled outline of the glyph from the translated and rejoined line segments.

A system and a computer readable storage medium are also described and claimed.
Abstract:
A system and method is shown for displaying objects in a plurality of layers. The layers are distinguished from one another using a variety of display attributes in order to emphasize objects in upper layers and de-emphasize objects in lower layers. The display attributes may include use of color (hue, saturation, and value), three dimensional images, fill patterns, and other display techniques. The user is able to change the layering in order to emphasize a different group, or category, of objects and de-emphasize other groups. The layers can be predefined, for example a hardware and software layers, or may be defined by analyzing the attributes corresponding with the objects. Objects and their attributes are stored in a data store, such as a relational database. Predefined layers include one or more of these attributes to use for matching.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method of providing enhanced characters better suited for being displayed on substantially low-resolution displays comprising the steps of: scaling-down a first representation of at least one character belonging to a given font according to a predetermined factor, resulting in a second representation of the at least one character, where the first representation is a monochrome pixel representation and the second representation is a sub-pixel representation and converting the second representation to a display representation according to a set of predetermined criteria.
Abstract:
An image display apparatus contains a display unit which displays information. A table displaying unit controls the display unit so as to display a measurement result table including a plurality of lists each of which is obtained from at least two corresponding measurement spots in at least two images, where the at least two corresponding measurement spots belong to the at least two images, respectively, so that the at least two images each include a plurality of measurement spots which respectively correspond to a plurality of measurement spots in every other one of the at least two images. An instruction receiving unit receives an instruction to select one of the plurality of lists in the measurement result table. An image display control unit controls the display unit so as to selectively display a portion of each of the at least two images so that the portion contains one of the plurality of measurement spots which corresponds to the one of the plurality of lists.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus implementing a technique for editing an existing curve in a computer graphics system. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a sketch curve as input. The sketch curve has a first modification end point and a second modification end point. A target section of the existing curve is calculated by finding a first target end point and a second target end point in the existing curve. The first target end point is a point on the existing curve closest to the first modification end point and the second target end point is a point on the existing curve closest to the second modification end point. The target section is removed from the existing curve. A replacement curve is created and is inserted into the existing curve in place of the target section. The existing curve and the replacement curve are faired at their respective neighboring end points.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method modifies a curve in response to a user action through a graphical user interface in the computer system, with the curve being defined by control points. Each of the control points is identified in response to user input as a fixed control point, a selected control point, or a free control point. A displacement of selected points is received, and a free slope control point of the curve is mapped to a point Tp on a line t. An interpolation curve IC(t) is defined on the line t, and a point Tp is projected to the value of the interpolation curve IC(t) at t equals Tp to find a scale factor. The scale factor is multiplied by the displacement of the selected points to determine the displacement of the free control point. A computer-implemented graphical user interface method creates a Bezier curve segment on a display in a computer system. A selection of a first segment end point is received through a graphical user interface in the computer system. The position of a cursor on the computer display is received as a second segment end point. The first and second slope points are calculated so that the Bezier segment defined by the first and second segment end points and the first and second slope points approximates an arc. The calculated Bezier curve segment is displayed on the computer display.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for converting multi-level raster shapes into bi-level raster shapes while preserving as much of the visual character of the shape is disclosed. Drop-out are handled by identifying certain boundaries between pixels as drop-out warnings (178). Pixels adjacent to drop-out warnings (178) have their coverage values converted from multi-level to bi-level by a process that guarantees that at least one of them will be rounded up. In a preferred embodiment, the set of drop-out warnings (178) for an outline is the set of pixel boundaries containing the nearest pixel boundary to each intersection of the outline with mid-pixel lines. The present invention minimizes stem width aliasing by a variable threshold technique in which the threshold value used to turn the multi-level coverage value of a pixel into a bi-level value depends on the pixel position.
Abstract:
In order to achieve the purpose, a robotic cleaner according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes: a traveling unit for moving a body in a traveling region; a distance measuring sensor for acquiring distance sensing information about a distance to an object outside the body; and a control unit which generates a grid map about the traveling region from the distance sensing information, performs, when dividing the traveling region into a plurality of sub-areas, ray casting on a plurality of traveling nodes on a path of the grid map with respect to each sub-area to search for an open space, and sets an open node for the open space to calculate a topology graph between the traveling nodes and the open node. Therefore, efficiency can be improved by minimizing unnecessary traveling when traveling for searching for a space in which additional traveling is required. Furthermore, avoidance traveling can be reduced
