摘要:
An intelligent terminal that allows for replacement of a wireless communication device by a user is disclosed, which comprises an intelligent terminal body and the wireless communication device having a SIM card installed therein. A slot for accommodating the wireless communication device is disposed at a side of the intelligent terminal body, the wireless communication device is detachably inserted in the slot and connected to the intelligent terminal body via an interface, and the outer surface of the wireless communication device matches with the outer surface of the intelligent terminal body. Because the intelligent terminal adopts a wireless communication device whose outer surface matches with the outer surface of the body of the intelligent terminal the wireless network accessing function of the ultra-thin intelligent terminal (e.g., a tablet computer) is ensured even when no WiFi or 4G network resources are available. Meanwhile, comparing with the external wireless network accessing devices which has protruding part, this intelligent terminal can prevent the wireless network accessing device from being subjected to external impact and the consequent damage on the interface, so the availability and the reliability of the product in use are greatly improved. Moreover, the detachable wireless communication device also makes it convenient for the user to choose different kinds of wireless network accessing devices freely.

An electronic device according to one embodiment comprises: at least one processor; a first slot connected to the at least one processor and capable of receiving a first detachable SIM; a second slot selectively connectable to the at least one processor and capable of receiving a second detachable SIM; an eSIM selectively connectable to the at least one processor and included in the electronic device; and a switch configured to connect any one of the second slot or the eSIM to the at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor is configured to: obtain first information indicating whether to support the eSIM from a network; control the switch such that the at least one processor is connected to the second slot, on the basis of detection of a first event for using the second SIM based on confirmation that the first information supports the eSIM; control the switch such that the at least one processor is connected to the eSIM, on the basis of detection of a second event for using the eSIM; and control the switch such that the at least one processor is connected to the second slot, on the basis of confirmation that the first information does not support the eSIM.
摘要:
Representative embodiments described herein set forth techniques for optimizing large-scale deliveries of electronic Subscriber Identity Modules (eSIMs) to mobile devices. Specifically, instead of generating and assigning eSIMs when mobile devices are being activated-which can require significant processing overhead-eSIMs are pre-generated with a basic set of information, and are later-assigned to the mobile devices when they are activated. This can provide considerable benefits over conventional approaches that involve generating and assigning eSIMs during mobile device activation, especially when new mobile devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, etc.) are being launched and a large number of eSIM assignment requests are to be fulfilled in an efficient manner.
