The invention relates to a method for producing a dental product, according to which a moulding, in the form of a negative mould, of a tooth or a tooth stump is created using a moulding material, and this negative mould is scanned. The scanner result is then used to mechanically produce the dental product. In order to improve the scanner result, either the surface of the moulding is roughened, or a scannable moulding material containing between 0.01 and 80 wt.% of titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide, zinc oxide and/or barium sulfate and black colouring pigments, is used.
