摘要： A positive displacement flush syringe includes a barrel having a chamber for retaining fluid and an elongate tip extending distally therefrom having a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the chamber. A plunger having a stopper which is slidably positioned in said chamber for driving fluid out of the chamber by movement of the stopper relative to the barrel is provided. Further, structure is provided to move fluid distally in the passageway after fluid has been delivered from the chamber and the stopper is in contact with the distal wall of the chamber.

摘要： A liquid dispensing system for oral administration comprises a dispenser and cartridges from which medicine is dispensed. Each cartridge includes a hollow shell with a septum at one end, a piston at the other end, and the medicine in a cavity between the septum and the piston. The dispenser includes receiver in which a cartridge is received, a plunger that can slide relative to the receiver and that has a plunging head that can drive the piston, and a barrel in which the cartridge, receiver and plunger can be received, at least partly. Once a cartridge has been inserted into the receiver, the receiver and cartridge are inserted into the barrel and a piercing head ruptures the septum. The plunger is pushed to drive the piston and the medicine is dispensed by the piston, through a discharge passage of the barrel.

摘要： A syringe includes a barrel, a plunger, and a sealing member creating a seal between the plunger and the barrel. The barrel includes a first portion with a first inner diameter and a second portion with a second inner diameter that is larger than the first inner diameter. The sealing member engages the first portion of the barrel to give rise to a first contact pressure when the barrel is filled with product. The first contact pressure is sufficient to maintain a gas-tight seal over the expected temperature ranges -25 DEG C to 40 DEG C. A first force is applied to the plunger to overcome the first contact pressure and move the plunger out of the first portion and into the second portion to dispense product. The sealing member engages the second portion of the barrel to give rise to a second contact pressure that is lower than the first contact pressure. A second force lower than the first force is sufficient to overcome the second contact pressure and move the plunger in the second portion to continue dispensing product. The syringe may include a restraining element for accommodating expansion of the product during freezing.
